The staff were polite, the bed comfortable and room clean. Water went off for over 12 hours and we had to use the pool water to flush the toilet but I do not think this had anything to do with the hotel as I was told this was the normal in this part of Panama. No one cleaned our room while we were there for 5 days, and we had to put the trash out and requested tissue, towels, etc.

If you ever visit the Puerto Armuelles area Big Daddy’s is the place to stay. It is comfortable and the staff is so accommodating. Good food and good drinks. It gets my three C’s - CLEAN, COMFORTABLE, AND COZY!

Nice small hotel in Puerto Armuelles
This was just a one-night stop for us, in conjunction with a trip to a monkey preserve nearby. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the accommodations. The room was large, with a sitting area and a comfortable bed. The pillows didn't work as well for us, but that tends to be individual. They have a nice deck here you can eat and/or have a glass of wine looking out over the ocean. Pool was nice. One suggestion would be to make the toilet a bit more private in the room. The restaurant menu is limited, but the food we had was good. It served our purposes very well and we would return.

Literally right on the beach. Frank and his staff are amazing. You are close to the heart of Puerto. The suites are huge for 2 people with plenty of light and amazing ocean views from bed.

The room, although clean, had no amenities and the furniture was uncomfortable and worn. The pool was dirty. The only places to sit outside were plastic chairs, no lounge chairs available, so relaxing at the beach or the pool meant sitting up straight. Incredibly noisy. No hot water in the showers, unkept grounds, etc. The only positive was the several hard working girls who served food, and did relatively everything else

The people made the stay
We stayed for two nights and a full day. The town seems in decline even though it’s a destination for expats. The hotel isn’t opulent but it is clean, recently renovated and the staff is friendly and very helpful. Shout out to Frank the ‘consierge’ who made our stay - helpful, informative, attentive to details and bi-lingual (since we are not). If we return we will definitely stay at Big Daddies.

Great view and friendly staff. Unfortunately I can't recommend anything else about this place. No window in room, no hot watet as advertised, filthy pool over run with day use people, management unresponsive to guests dog barking all day and all right.

Big Daddy's is probably the nicest building on the beach at Puerto Armuelles which is maybe why there are some positive reviews which I think are coming from mainly locals because I found the hotel and location to be terrible. Luckily I booked the honeymoon suite which was beach front and slightly nicer than my friend's room which had no windows. With that said the honeymoon suite had a nonfunctional hot tub which was the main reason why we paid extra for the room. Also the public restroom was next to our room and people kept mistaking our door for the bathroom so we constantly had people trying to enter our room. The pool was full of people not even staying at the hotel and it was dirty. The beach in front has trash and broken glass. I ventured into the ocean which was warm but murky and I got stung by a jellyfish so I would stay clear of that as well. There are no restaurants in the area so you are forced to eat at the hotel which was pretty bad. I tried their burger which was two paper thin patties burnt to a crisp with mayo and their wings were smothered in a Velveeta like substance. As if things couldn't get worse the hotel didn't have running water the last night we were there so needless to say our group checked out as early as we could in the morning and left as quickly as possible.

We were really happy with the stay at this hotel, it was clean, the staff was friendly, and the food was super good. (Homemade pizza dough made it AMAZING, and my chicken burger was fantastic) The rooms are all arranged around the pool with the ocean in the background (we loved hearing it at night) so be aware that you will hear noise from the pool and music from the bar. They shut it off around 11, I think. There's not much to do in Puerto Armuelles other than the fishing, but if you want to disconnect for a couple days, hang out by the beach, have drinks at the bar and swim in the pool, this is the place for sure. The only negative we saw is that there's no smoking signs posted around (good) but apparently that doesn't apply to the manager, he was walking around all over, by the pool, our food, all over, with a cigarette in his hand or mouth. If you're going to smoke, at least go away from people to do it.

Oasis in an unknown parisise in Panama
Great location on the beach and rooms that remind you of home. Great restarant / bar right on the primises but the shut it down at 10pm for the guest to get thier quiet time. But other bars and food nearby. The staff was awesome and kind not to mention helpful. The American owners were always there to ensure you have a great time and know whatand where to go. But in reality staying at Big Daddys was where we spent most of our time. Expats ave a standing get together and enty if Oanamanians to pratice you spanish. This is not a big tourist town which is what we loved. It was authentic Panama with out the anoying tourist stuff. But close enough to do everything And right on thier beach you can do anything from Horseback riding to ocean sports, birdwatching, Kyacking and just relaxing to your hearts content. We plan to go back and make Big Daddy’s our local hub as we expand our exploration and enjoy Panama perfection. Did we say they had great burgers and fries to die for? Fresh fruit every morning and even made Ice Coffee for me. Ha. Awesome. Say hello to David the co owner who is so helpful and fun. Thanks again Big Daddy -Formerly called Heaven. David

First of all they do NOT accept credit card and they do not even try to work with you to make of your stay a pleasant experience. Poor service due to short staff, the owner was very rude to us and staff do not have any training in customer service.

Estuvo bien. Buena atención . Atentos con cualquier solicitud. La comida bien y. El desayuno bien. Dos comentarios: los baños en cada cuarto hay q agregarles una puerta , no tienen . Y el wifi parece q tiene problemas después de 10 pm y los canales de mas Movil se tornan lentos hay q mejorarlos. Por lo demás m gusto

Todo bien, hasta que el cuarto de la habitación que nos entrego el aire acondicionado goteara agua, y el baño la lavamano está debajo de una tablilla, y cada vez que subía la cabeza me golpeaba contra esa tablilla que colocaron que es un espejo. La regadera donde uno se baña el agua se esparce por todos los lados menos en el centro es donde debería ser. En el restaurante debería tener mas variedades de comida porque pedimos 2 ordenes de alita y solo había uno, pedimos pescado frito y no había, entre otras cosas. Pero general, solo no quedamos una noche.

El hotel necesita mejorar un poco su servicio de atención en el restaurante. Sin embargo, se nota que el dueño le dedica mucha atención a sus huéspedes y eso es importante. Aparte de eso la comida estaba rica y la habitación estaba limpia. Además que aceptaron mi pequeña mascota, lo que fue muy amable de su parte. Gracias por eso.

Not recommended!
The most unfriendly receptionist when we booked in on the Friday, requested decent bedding 3 times as there was holes in the bedding, never received any decent sheets. The website states "Luxury Linens" No blankets or duvets in the room. Were short on a pillow (3 pillows in the room but we booked for 4 persons) and had to eventually collect it ourselves after the fourth request. Finding vomit on the sleeper couch and the bed sheet where our children was supposed to sleep! Dave apologized on Friday night and said he will speak to his partner to see what they can do to accommodate us for the inconvenience as there was no other available room. Then we were being ignored for the whole weekend! No window in the room, no water on Friday evening to take a shower and a cold shower on Monday morning. Definitely do not recommend this establishment!
