"Needs better management to pay attention to details. For example, we book two rooms. One room was for 5 people and only one umbrella was found. If you know 5 people are coming common sense is to put more than 1 umbrella. The other room had no umbrella and took over 2 days to get just one. Shower head holder in bathrooms were loose and water was splashing everywhere. Only buffet was available, all restaurants were book for our entire 5 day stay unless we wanted to have dinner after 9pm. Poor planning by hotel management."
"There were constant ants in our room and the power was frequently going out. The beds were comfortable. The alcohol was definitely boot leg and watered down. I wish I had a chemical test with me to prove that. The staff were the best and very attentive. There are no complaints there at all. The food was ok. The fruit was very good and fresh. I recommend staying away from the sushi bar!! We were very ill with food poisoning and had to cancel our excursions and visit the urgent care due to bad sushi. It is a week later and my stomach is still not functioning properly. We will not be going back again. This review was tough to write about because of the employee and them being so great but there is much room for improvement here. "
Viva Heavens by Wyndham, A Trademark All Inclusive
8/10 Good
"I recently stayed at the Viva Wyndham all-inclusive hotel and had a mixed but overall decent experience.
Starting with the positives, the room was very clean and well-maintained throughout my stay, which made a great first impression. The air conditioning worked exceptionally well—definitely a big plus, especially in the warmer climate. The staff truly stood out; everyone I interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and eager to help, which added a lot to the overall experience. The hotel also has two bars that were both enjoyable, offering a good atmosphere and solid drink options.
However, there are several areas that need improvement. The food was probably the biggest disappointment. While there was variety, it lacked authenticity and flavor. Introducing more authentic and diverse food options would significantly enhance the dining experience.
Another issue was the entertainment setup. The entertainment area is not enclosed, and the noise carries late into the night, making it difficult for guests to get proper rest. Enclosing this space or better managing sound levels would make a big difference.
The beach is inconveniently located about a 3–5 minute walk from the hotel, which a little bit farther than expected, and the resort itself seems understaffed. Because of this, not all restaurants are open daily—typically one is closed, while the others are often fully booked, making it frustrating to plan for dinner.
In summary, while the hotel has some strong points—particularly "
