We enjoyed are stay. Very cute atmosphere when you walk up. Very close to the baywalk and the cafe we loved Eightynine cafe, only a 5 minute walk to both. We have been traveling for 1.5 months and I think the best I have slept. Air con worked great and the fan even made it chilly which is how we love to sleep! But you don’t have to use both!
I’ve already reviewed this property from a previous stay. I liked it so much that I booked it again. Fantastic staff! Fantastic Location!! Charming Room!!
This gem was a complete lifesaver; close to Baywalk and very cool expat bar, Puerto Pension was ideal. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I liked so much that I booked all of my future Puerto Princesa stays at this location.

A night stay
The staff are very friendly. It is a hotel with island motif. The hotel seems quite aged and some functions do not work well in the bath room. Breakfast is basic. Big trucks often passed at night as the hotel is close to the port. The baywalk is about 5 minute walk from hotel.
It was our 2nd time to stay at this place, but 1st visit was more than 10 years ago...
Pros: very friendly and helpful staff; the place is in a quite neighborhood but just minutes from the baywalk park and close to centre of town for shopping; the room which is nicely decorated with local and native materials is clean and bed is comfy; there is hot water in the shower and for a very affordable rate, you get a continental breakfast every morning...
Cons: wifi signal is weak to medium on the hallways and non existent inside the rooms; cable tv has a choppy reception...
Overall, we are happy with our stay and will stay here again in the future. If you are not too concerned about wifi and cable tv, then this place is highly recommended...
friendly and accomodating staff. earth friendly. cozy place

Nice place
At Puerto Pension it was great staying at the hotel. It was clean and the service is superb. They are very helpful and they accommodate all the tours we wanted even for our car rentals. The only thing is that they turn off the water at night and one of the window you could open it outside our room. Didn’t feel safe. We found out that out when we already leaving the hotel. Overall it was great and good experience.
The property was close walking distance to the water baywalk. The rooms had everything you needed. Our room had a strong musty smell that didn't go away, but we only stayed for 2 nights. Go to the local travel agencies for excursions as the hotel is overpriced. It was nice that the hotel offered breakfast and airport shuttle.
This is in a nice quiet location near the water and the original part of town. The best thing is the fourth floor restaurant with spectacular views where you have the complementary breakfast. The rooms are clean and pleasant enough but need renovation. That said, pretty good value.
Really really nice room! Comfiest beds! Perfect location next to then Bay walk, which was great on an evening, however you’ll get quite a lot of noise from the bay walk too. Also walking distance to mall and markets! Jacuzzi was a nice touch, and staff very friendly and helpful with booking transfers

Great bed, great location, nice staff, nice exterior and good breakfasts, easy to book buses, free airport pickup.
VERY loud surrounding area, music played from 8pm-8am, roosters and dogs 24/7, hot water system didn’t work, tiniest bathroom ever, huge gaps under front door (gecko and giant cricket got in), bathroom door broken
We had a 1 night stay at Puerto Pension and we really liked it, specially the ambiance and decoration. Friendly and helpful staff and breakfast with a view. Recommended!

I booked 3 rooms with my friend and stayed for 3 nights. The staff are nice and helpful especially the driver Bobby. They have free continental breakfast but you may upgrade it with filipino bfast with additional 98 pesos. I ordered fried dried fish/danggit (they have other name for and i forgot)with unlimitted eggs. To my surprise it was 3 pcs of very small danggit. I have been in this hotel 5 yrs ago and it was nice because of the native ambience but they weren,t able to maintain their hotel.
it's our second time to stay in here; sent my sister and a few friends here also. location is convenient; staff friendly; beds are so comfy; breakfast fine enough; facilities functional. will come back here again and again in the future
These are the reasons why I am not happy during our family's stay.
1.) Mosquitoes everywhere - there are lots of mosquitoes here, at the reception, veranda, inside the rooms too!!!! they have mosquito killer lights but its not working. My kids and I have to bear all the mosquito bites. Too terrible. Even if we requested for the mosquito killer, they don't care much.
2.) The rooms smells bad - it smells like someone so old have lived there for so long. They don't renovate the place. So it looks and feels so old and worst.
3.) The restroom smells like pee.
4.) The food is a big joke! - they offer unlimited egg at 89 pesos per head knowing that most people can only consume not more than 5 eggs for breakfast and they don't include rice on the free breakfast so you will have no choice but to upgrade and pay.
I hope they will improve in the future.
5.) Lazy waiters - they don't want to bring our food in the veranda, we're paying for the services because we don't want to stay in the dining area that looks filthy and old with mosquitoes and not well ventilated.
6.) Ugly restaurant - the restaurant especially the cooking area looks so dirty, so if you want to eat, don't try to look at the cooking area. you'll surely lose appetite.
We spent 2 weeks at Puerto Pension and enjoyed every moment. The property has a huge abundance of local flavor and character, and is supported by a wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. Continental breakfast every morning, with splendid views, was great, but do "splurge" from time to time for a full breakfast. The little bar was a great place to wind down a day with a beer or two, to play some worry (aka Mancala), and to chat with fellow travelers. All in all, a great local hotel in Puerto!
All staff are very friendly and helpful.
Hotel is way overrated because it is old, very very small room, with no pool or beach. Internet does not work in room and is very slow in lobby area.
It is in walking distance from restaurants and shopping.
Dogs are barking all night and roosters are crowing starting at 4 am. Believe me it doesn't stop.
Great price, comfortable, clean and good breakfast
The location is right next to the Baywalk (similar to US Boardwalk with restaurants and vendors). We jogged there up & down & got 2mls in. I felt we and our stuff was safe. It is near walking to stores and restaurants or you can grab a tricycle taxi for 20 pesos anywhere. The room was clean and the staff will get you whatever you need (extra lamp, night stand, etc.). The water heater is instant, electric constant (except during a rain storm & emergency lighting kicked in & lights back less than 5 mins). The courtyard is quaint with a little bar & hammocks to lounge in. It is quiet (except for near by roosters which is common- I have a white noise app that helped & didn't find it to be an issue).
I recommend the tour packages. You can not snorkel right off He place but the tour packages will give you that chance. Get pesos right outside the airport because you'll need them ASAP especially if you leave early the next day for the under ground river (40 pesos environmental fee to be paid in cash). You are told there is no swimming at He under ground river (which is true) but the wait time is extensive so wear a suit and swim at He port/beach while you wait (you eat lunch there and can be there for 3 hours - great fresh juices there!). We stayed 3 nights which was good to do the city then went to a secluded beach area.
The airport shuttle is great too. Very accommodating and you can't beat the price.
We recently stayed at Puerto Pension for 2 nights and I absolutely recommend this hotel. Although there was an initial confusion with our booking, everything else went quite smooth. The room was comfortable and had a nice king-size bed. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the location is ideal as its off the main road, which means you are away from the traffic and noise. It's only a 2-minute walk to the corniche where we had some amazing street food. I would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Puerto Princesa.
We had an enjoyable 1 night stay at Puerto Pension Inn. The room was tidy, staff was polite and helpful, and the air conditioning worked great. The bed was very comfortable, and the hot water heater for the shower was comforting (first time using hot water during our stay in th Philippines). We watched a bunch of movies on the tv. If you're looking for a simple place to stay before flying out of PP, then stay here. Just don't expect it to be resort-like.
When we arrived, we were greeted by Flor and two welcome drinks. I am not sure of the name but it was sweet and refreshing. Flor quickly checked us in and gave us some basic information including the included airport shuttle. Our itinerary changed and we ended up staying only one night, but I did see some information regarding tours there. Someone helped us with the luggage and we were taken to our cozy room for the night. The room has all the essentials, running AC and even a fan over the bed, warm water and the sheets and towels seemed clean. As with some other lodges, the restroom shower did not have a ledge, so the entire floor will get wet if not careful. I always bring flip flops for the shower anyway.
The location was pretty prime. Apparently this is the sister company for the more luxurious Daluyon resort. Right behind the lodge is the bay walk where you can walk along the waters (not a beach area) and there are tons of small food vendors if you are looking for "street food" The day seemed busy the night we stayed there and many of the locals were walking the strip and kids were on bikes. Along the front of the lodge, it is walking distance to their market area, fast food places like Jollibee and Chow King and very close to pharmacies and super markets. Also, the airport is about 15-20 min away by shuttle.
It also includes a basic breakfast that is prepared when you sit down. You have the option to upgrade for more meats etc for about 98 pesos.
Cute, tidy hotel which was perfect for an overnight stay before flying out the next morning. The bed was extremely comfortable, the free breakfast was of a good standard and the free airport shuttle was an added bonus. The room was quite small though and the Wifi wasn't great so take that into consideration if you're planning on staying 2+ nights
Reasonably priced for the novelty of an environmentally friendly hotel. It's the first hotel I have seen with this particular style. 10 minute walking distance to larger fast food chains like Jollibee and local cuisine. Rooms a bit on the small side, but overall I would give this hotel 4 out of 5.
First impression is good. It is build the traditional way and with traditional materials. They have strong environmental commitment - separate recycling bins, solar power for hot water and electricity.
The staff is helpful and at least tries there best. A very helpful service was the free ride to the airport. We got a one hour late checkout for free as well.
The best was the air-condition unit. A high class Samsung split system with quiet and Good sleep mode which lets you sleep good. Anyway because of the the outside noise an earplugs are a must.
Our room was quite small but we needed just a place to sleep for 2 nights without really unpacking.
Free WiFi - OK but sometimes weak in the room.
Breakfast - has to be chosen the day before. Typical one for the country. Some breakfast upgrade is offered for extra payment (2$ pppd)- not worthy.
I would suggest the bar to offer the excellent craft beer made in Puerto Princesa by Palaweño Brewery. The usual SMB product can be bought in any supermarket and are offered in every bar or restaurant. Its pricey 140 piso from the brewery but is worthy every centimo.
They have a very nice wooden decorations around and I would say that a lot of furniture and details were made especially for the hotel by local craftsmen. At the same time though the bathroom fixture is of low quality except the good shower.
As a conclusion I recommend the place as a good value for the money.
We were met at the airport and transferred to hotel. The staff we friendly and informative. The room was on the second floor and was quite large. Very clean with polished wood floors. Solar heated shower with electric back up. Very quiet a/c. Breakfast was ok, restaurant on the top floor with a view of the bay. Booked tours at the hotel with no problems.
