"This property is old and needs to be refurbished. The entire 1st floor smells of smoke from the casino that adjoins the lobby. The only good thing about my stay was the staff was great."

The casino was clean, the rooms were clean, every resturant was more then clean. 110% recommend the Peppermill as a destination regardless of if you are there just to stay the night or enjoy a trip away. "We enjoyed the city view from our spacious room. The hotel is near the Riverwalk which was undergoing work during our visit. Fortunately there is a nice neighborhood with sidewalks where we were able to get some exercise. We utilized the fridge and microwave as well as taking advantage of the free coffee/cocoa/tea during our brief stay."

"The photos on Expedia look great. The actual property is horrid! The landscaping is all overgrown, dead and completely covered with feces. The 1st floor back hallway entrance is not secure, anyone can enter there as the lock and key entry are broken. The carpets are filthy. The curtains in our room were so old they were shredding. The bathroom was gross, there is a plunger next to the toilet because it does not flush and needs to be plunged! The beds are broken down, worn out! The ice machine in the lobby had a pile of towels under it catching the leaking water. VERY sketchy location with questionable characters hanging out outside. I booked for 2 nites but checked out at 7:30 am the next morning because it was just such a trashy hotel. I still have not gotten a refund for the 2nd nite. The only saving grace was the people who worked there were very nice people, not their fault they gave to work in a dump!"

"Our stay had both positives and some significant issues. Parking garage: only 2 of 3 elevators were working, causing long waits. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The biggest issue was the hotel elevators. For most of our 3-night stay, only 2 of 6 were working. On checkout day, we waited 15 minutes on the 14th floor. When I called the front desk, I was told only 1 elevator was operational. We could also hear what sounded like someone stuck in an elevator. With a flight to catch, we had no choice but to carry all our luggage down 14 flights of stairs. Room (Petite King Suite): spacious and comfortable, with a great bed and nice jacuzzi tub. However, two issues stood out. First, the AC wouldn’t cool below 72–74°. After multiple calls and over 1.5 hours (and my husband going to the desk), someone finally came. It was fixed, but the delay made it hard to rest. Second, the bathroom layout is extremely tight. The toilet door opens inward with very little clearance—difficult even for someone of average-to-larger build. Overall, while staff was kind and the room itself was nice, the elevator problems and slow maintenance response significantly impacted our stay."
