"My wife and I have just stayed at The Moorland Hotel for 4 nights, 3 of which we had an evening meal. Beautiful location in Dartmoor with plenty of walks nearby. From start to finish all the staff were brilliant, helpful, friendly etc... special mention to Carly, and all the restaurant, breakfast and bar restaurant staff we came across but cannot remember their names. The bedroom was very comfortable with a very clean and good shower ensuite / high level toiletries. There was a fridge in the room. Bottles of water and replacement coffee pods provided in our room each day. Our room 208 looked over the back garden and had very good views. The room was quiet. All the meals in the various restaurants / bar area for breakfast were excellent - high quality good proportions. Extensive and varied menus to choose from. There is a large longe area between the formal restaurant and the bar / eating area. Nice furnishings and clean throughout. Highly recommend."

"Big mention to Jane and Ollie who were so welcoming and friendly. Food was excellent. Room was quirky and lovely and quiet. Very peaceful. Very clean in rooms and in the pub itself. Lovely little town with lots of things to do in the area."

"Our room had beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and was spotlessly clean. There was a chouce if pillows, aircon and a fan. We didn't use either, just opened the window for fresh air. The shower was roomy and there was hot water. A lovely stay with freshly cooke meals.."

"Parking was brilliant as the overflow was close to our room. Bed was super comfy and good shower. Staff friendly and breakfast really yummy."

"Absolutely fabulous few days away. This is a real gem of a hotel. Quiet and secluded but a real joy to experience. The staff are so helpful and genuine (Rosie, Sharon and Oliver deserve medals) There was plenty of choice for breakfast, the cooked breakfast was tasty and well presented. The evening dinner menu and quality of food was 10/10. I think it could be even better with a slightly extended menu. We will be back x"

"What a beautiful setting, we were blown away! The rooms were comfortable, clean and wonderfully supplied with toiletries and hot drinks. The beds were extremely comfortable, best night sleep I’ve had in ages. Parking is free, just register it at reception. Staff were efficient, pleasant and helpful. We will certainly be coming back. "

"The outside of the property was beautiful at first glance. Both myself and my partner were staying only for one night. The first issue was the lady who showed us to our room- as I was walking she asked “how far along are you?” To which I said “sorry? Who’s pregnant” and she replied “oh sorry, I just thought you were pregnant and I didn’t understand why your partner would’ve made you hold the bags” to which I replied “no”. Obviously quite an uncomfortable situation for both party’s, I wouldn’t say I’m on the heavier side as 20yr old size 12 but obviously she thought otherwise. Second issue was our bathroom, as we walked in we noticed our bathroom was flooded also there was yellow marks near the toilet so my partner went down to let them know, to which they said they were going to sort it out. Later in the evening when we arrived the bathroom was still flooded and the marks were still there. Small things like the carpet feeling dirty/sticky, bad quality mattress and there was no hairdryer but we did have tea and coffee as well as complimentary soap in the bathroom. I would give this a solid 4 out of 10, for £100+ a night I would expect a different approach to their guests."
