I love the location, the genuinely friendly staff, the cleanliness and proximity to Termini, metro, bus route and easy walking distance to the Colosseum. Plenty of dining options nearby. Will definitely stay at Hotel Canova again.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was in good condition, comfortable bed and pillows. I am giving it 3 stars because on my second night there, there was a foul/awful smell from the toilet/ bathroom drainage. It was so bad, I couldn’t sleep. I spoke to the receptionist about it and the next day and they said they’d fix it. I didn’t smell it the next night but it wasn’t a pleasant experience and since there was no one at reception, I didn’t call to ask for a room change.

this was a wonderfully quiet and relaxing space to come back to after a day exploring the busy streets of roma. centrally located and easily walkable places to eat, visit, shop nearby. staff were very kind and helpful and made us feel right at home! would stay again!

Amazing staff, very friendly and helpful. Great location, walkable to all the sights. Lots of local restaurants and bars. We had a balcony as well which was a very welcome addition. Great experience overall. Would definitely staff again.

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. Although the rooms are on the smaller side, they were incredibly clean and perfect for a city-style stay. The location is unbeatable — very close and walkable to major attractions like the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain. The surrounding area is full of charming shops and restaurants, and it felt extremely safe and well-lit, even at night. Check-in was quick and easy. One thing to note: there’s a city tax of six euros per person, per night that must be paid in cash, so be sure to bring euros with you, as they don’t accept credit cards for this. Overall, it was a fantastic stay — clean, secure, and in an amazing location. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome!

Decent little hotel. Very basic Staff friendly, helpful, professional and proactive. No added services (e.g breakfast/coffee) which is available at other hotels in the area. Had a couple of maintenance related issues in the room. Staff was proactive in moving us to a new room.

HOTEL CANOVA IN ROME

Great location. Reception was great. Room was clean. The room needs some attention. Door trim fell off and bathroom was missing a piece of trim completely so inside struts and insulation exposed. The place is old but these items could be fixed.

While Marriott hotels are typically our go-to, the steep prices for accommodations in Rome led us to explore alternative options, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. Hotel Canova is a clean and quiet hotel, located within easy walking distance of Roma Termini station. It’s perfect for travelers looking for a simple, no-frills place to stay. The rooms are small and compact but offer everything you need for a comfortable night’s rest. Despite the modest amenities, the hotel is well-maintained, providing a peaceful and tidy environment. If you’re seeking luxury, this isn’t the place, but for those who value cleanliness, convenience, and quiet, Hotel Canova is an excellent choice. It offered us a great base for exploring Rome without breaking the bank. Highly recommend for budget-conscious travelers who appreciate practicality and a good location!

Location: Really good, can’t fault the location being 15 minutes walk to the Colosseum and from there it’s walkable to the centre. The main station for metro was around 10 minutes walk and easy to navigate. It was not even a minute walk to the street with lots to eat, drink and shop. Super nice area to stay in if you don’t want to be too crowded and was very chill. Room: The one we had was small which was no issue as it was just us 2 and has everything you need. There is a key pad entry to the building and room (need to just tap a few times to wake the key pad, the staff kindly told me as I thought it was not working). Room was cleaned everyday and had no issues there at all. Rooftop was not open food wise as it looked like there would be a place to eat but it was open to sit and chill up there which was really nice to see the city from above. Staff: No faults here, super welcoming, friendly, and helpful they would answer any questions you have. Would consider staying here again :)

Conveniently located near many eateries, the main train station, two major subway lines and bus stops. It's a quaint property, with a comfortable bed, good lighting and power. They also have a rooftop/outdoor space to sit. The breakfast room was not available while we visited since it was under renovation. However, the room was quite small. There was barely space to unpack two suitcases. The shower was extremely tight - About 2ft x 2ft with a lower than standard showerhead, which made it really uncomfortable for my husband who is 6ft 2 and needed to crouch in a very small space. There was no caddy or rack to place any of your toiletries in the shower so you either had to hold on to it, or leave it on the floor, which made for very awkward maneuvering in a tight space. The safe and the heated towel rods weren't working either. Although to be fair, we didn't follow up to see if they could be fixed. We spent 3 nights there, and spent most of our time outside, so we managed alright. But I wouldn't stay here again.
