Rome in early December

Off season so bar was closed . Great choices for breakfast. Five minutes from train station - great location.

Hotel was only a 10 minute walk to train station. It was easy to get to other sites walking from the hotel. We had the twin rooms. The beds and pillows were not comfortable.

My daughter and I stayed at Hotel Mondial in late June 2023. The location is very convenient to both Termini Station and even closer to the Repubblica metro stop. Just off Via Nazionale which has shopping and dining galore. Our twin room was spacious, clean and had full amenities. The air conditioning was greatly appreciated. The staff were always very polite and helpful with dining suggestions and transportation. I would definitely stay here again.

Room of a good size, the same for the bathroom. The shower box is a little tight, as usual in Europe. Well located, subway station at five-minute walk, on the lovely Piazza fella Repubblica, lots of buses on via Nazionale. Good shopping along this same street. And the beautiful Teatro d’Opera di Roma is just next door. A good choice of restaurants and trattoria. And the hotel has some beautiful furniture and decorations in the common areas. Good value. I would return.

Broken AC - like it didnt matter

AC broken when we arrived, casual like it just happend and would be fixed - no AC whole time (5 nights, heat 22-28) and no discount when i asked for it (Computer says no attitute).

Our reservation w/ Expedia came w/ b'fast, but hotel said no. I then noticed that Expedia also did that w/ our Venice reservation (Arcadia Boutique Hotel) that was suppose to come w/ b'fast, but didn't come w/ it. Mondial staff said, w/ Expedia it's that way. They say w/ b'fast, but it doesn't really come w/ it. Not a good thing w/ Expedia 👎👎

Better places to stay near Termini

Checkin could have been better. K had to return to the front desk twice because the door would not open. It ended up there was a trick to opening the door which was not shared with me until I had returned twice. The door had to be pulled towards me and then the key turned and it would release. The next morning was very noisy because a workman was rebuilding the door to the room next door. A lot of pounding and it took him ALL day. Front desk staff was nice except for one moody older gentleman that acted like he was doing me a favor every time I asked for my room key.

We booked this because it had AC. When we arrived at the hotel they informed us their AC was out. Our options were we could check out and not get charged for the nights we weren’t there. They didn’t offer an upgrade or free breakfast or ANYTHING to make up for a HOT room. We asked for a fan which they provided but it was small and weak. We opened our window but then had mosquitos. Unacceptable. WIFI did not work in the room most of the time. Hugely inconvenient for travelers. When it did work we were kicked off regularly. Dust on tile in bathroom was thick, vents were coated in dust, curtain pulls didn’t work and we could hear the couple next door through the bathroom dusty vents. My recommendation- DO NOT STAY HERE. They only seem to care about collecting your money. Some staff were helpful.

Second time staying here still great

Excellent location with great restaurants and bars nearby. Clean and quiet nice size rooms with excellent staff. Just up the street from the Rome Opera House. Short walk to the train station. Convenient bus routes along Via Nazionale

Overall, a very nice property. Clean, ornate, superb staff. Just a few minutes walk to the main train station. Great local restaurants abound. However, condidering the extremely warm this summer, the management would have been wise to not turn off the A/C until the weather had cooled down. I almost had to leave because of a health condition. The staff provided a small fan, which sufficed. The complaints at the front desk were endless. I went down for breakfast at 1015 or so. The information sheet in the room breakfast was from 0700-1030. Sadly, as i tried to have my meal, I was met with locked doors, and told breakfast ended at 1000. I informed the front desk about the misinformation in the rooms, and was told that it would be corrected. For the price, with a few updates, and some TLC, this place could be a hidden gem! PS I highly recommend that Floriana, at the front desk be promoted and considered for management ASAP. Gratzi, JB Collins

Système d’air climatisé ne fonctionnait pas. Aucun effort de la part de l’hôtel pour faire les réparations. Nous avons manqué de papier de toilette. N’ont pas remis de verres plastique à tous les jours et aucune façon d’en avoir à la réception.

No air conditioning during 4 night stay. Staff would not give updates, acted like its never coming back on. Opening windows at night only invited mosquitos as there were now screens. Also, very large room keys must be stored at the front desk when going out, but staff never once checked ID when asking for keys upon returning - thieves could easily access our room by asking for the key.

Hotel is old & dated but seemed ok when we first got there. Check in staff was fine. At 9pm, could hear music & street noise. Our room was VERY HOT. Tried & Tried to set the thermostat. It would start to go down then stop. Reset it several times. We were too exhausted to go to front desk. Reported it next morning at check out & got no apologies. Another person checking out had same experience with thermostat not cooling. They requested compensation & got nowhere with that.

This hotel had failed A/C staff never advised. When asked what can be done. We were advised “You can leave” having pre paid via Expedia and Riders cup in town nothing available. No repair insight. Elevator died, same result of unknown when. We have been to Rome many time this hotel was the worst
