"Lovely, quiet, peaceful location. Lovely place to stop staff very friendly and helpful and food was fantastic. The room very clean and tidy had a great view of the countryside and the sheep and horses in the field next door."
"Room is spacious and sparkling clean with nice view of the lake. It is an old building in traditional renovation. If you like the atmosphere of staying in an old English house you will definitely love it. We had a nice and quiet break from busy life there. Breakfast was nicely served. Close walking distance to hiking trail. It's a few minutes drive from town centre."
"We loved our stay here; the hosts were lovely and friendly and the food in the pub downstairs was delicious! Would absolutely recommend if you're in the area!"
"Room a bit tired but doesn't detract from the enoyment of the stay. Room and bathroom spacious and the bed was comfortable, perfect for after hiking up Scafell Pike. Good, hearty food and friendly staff. Perfect for what we needed."

Seacote Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely hotel, reception staff weee very polite & welcoming.
Thanks goes to the kind house keeper who supplied items in our room despite it not been on her job list.
Breakfast has a good selection of hot and cold options.
The only thing we found was the toaster took a while to toast the bread. The staff were again very pleasant and the food was served hot and quickly.
There is a nice bar and area, also there is a lovely outside seating tovtake in the view.
The only negative niggle was the beautiful views from our room was slightly spoilt because the windows needed cleaning.
Otherwise its a great hotel, lovely beach, play area for children, ideal for walkers.
Definitely recommend this hotel.

"I recently stayed at this hotel in the Lake District with my family for five nights. Our main goal was to climb Scafell Pike, and this hotel stood out as the nearest option within my price range. Initially, I didn’t have very high expectations (despite the good reviews), but those quickly changed once we arrived.
The location was peaceful and quiet, the car park was large and well-planned, and the room exceeded my expectations—it was far more spacious than any hotel room I’ve stayed in before. The staff were warm, humble, and genuinely welcoming, which added to the experience.
Breakfast was included in the price and was a real highlight. Instead of a standard buffet, you order from a menu (available online), and the food is freshly prepared for you. There were plenty of options, including vegetarian and vegan choices, which I thought was excellent.
The bathroom was also very spacious and clean. The only small drawbacks were that the sofa bed was only a single (despite there being enough room for a double), and the showerhead over the bathtub was fixed.
The location was very convenient—just a 25-minute drive to Scafell Pike and about 40 minutes to the west coast, where towns like Whitehaven and Workington offer plenty of restaurants (including McDonald’s, KFC, and Domino’s for budget options), as well as major supermarkets like Morrisons, ASDA, and Tesco.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and would happily return. Highly recommended."
"Beautiful building, great staff and amazing food. Just about to go under refurb with exciting pictures and designs of proposed updating and improvements are scattered around the hotel. Best wishes with that 👍"
"Beautiful building and property. Spacious rooms with decent wifi, fridge, fan and comfortable chairs and bed. Good restaurant in the building too. Enjoyed the critters in the yard: cats, peacocks, Guinea hens, chickens, geese, and scrunchy faced pigs. Would have loved to have stayed longer. "
