"You must read-up on what to expect at the queen’s hotel. It may or may not be for you. It feels like stepping back in time. The place is a little shabby in places but if you want to have that feeling of living a bit of history it delivers. It’s an excellent location and the staff are all friendly and helpful. The pool offers a break from the noise of town and just generally- bring your ear plugs! We really enjoyed our stay."

"My room was spacious clean and modern. It was very safe and quiet. Breakfast was provided and was excellent. It is located 15 minute walk up steep road from city centre. Easy walking down and cheap uber tuk tuk ride back up the hill after leaving city center. I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Kandy."

The hoppers we ordered took 2 hours to come! This was the day after the Randoli Perahera so is assume they were not equipped...

Very walkable location - to the city in minutes! The only negative is that the hotel could not handle the volume of guests at breakfast. Many dishes were empty and kept empty for ages. The hoppers we ordered took 2 hours to come! This was the day after the Randoli Perahera so is assume they were not equipped to handle this number of guests.

"Staff are absolutely spot on, on the ball, very friendly. The hotel is very clean, rooms have amazing views over the valley. The rooms here were some of my nices on my trip to Sri Lanka. Naughty Monkeys pay a visit occasionally too! Its little put of town but going downhill, ypu can be in the centre of Kandy by walking in 10 mins. Coming back.... get a Tuk tuk! "
