I arrived at the property just for the hotel to tell me that they could not give me my room for the night after jumping around the bush on the call for 15 minutes. Save your money and time and stay away from this place. No compensation either.

No likes. No hot water, toilet didn’t flush, elevator didn’t work 3 of 5 times I tried using it. Had to climb three flights-not ok. The cleaning staff kept it on floor they cleaned. Twice when there was someone in lobby they did not help. Moved to second room around 2 am the first night that had working toilet and hot water. TV in room but no remote or way to turn it on. Guests need to know they may need to use stairs!! It was difficult.

Great location to explore SF, but the stairwells smelled of urine, and at night a very strange guard stayed at the door and tried to talk to you whenever you would enter/exit.

Only spent one night here , close to shops and restaurants however many amenities listed weren’t available- our TV didn’t work and there was also no hairdryer - when emailing the ‘24/7 front desk’ (which doesn’t exist) I received no response. Fine for one night, wouldn’t want to stay any longer.

I love how close this hotel is to the restaurants and Polk Street bars and clubs. As always this place was great and the Elevator is working now so its even greater.

As always I love my stays in San Francisco at the Calista. Rooms are always clean and I enjoy the hassle free check in. Ive seen people complain about the check in process but its simple and faster then anÿ where else. I love being able to arrive and go straight to my room because after travelling all day thats exactly what i want to do.

The pictures of this Hotel are very misleading. I can say that $265 for two nights seems like a very good deal until you walk into a dirty hotel room with half empty dollar tree soap bottles from the last guest and stained towels. The guest service was helpful and when there was a front desk, he was helpful and very friendly! You don’t get clean linen or towels unless you call. There isn’t complimentary soaps or even a tv to watch in our case. It was a nerve wracking experience with all of the homeless that we came across. We even had someone at our room door trying to get us to open it. Don’t book this hotel with high expectations, leave them on the floor and you might just be able to see the glass half full with this one. There’s a BevMo and Starbucks, as well as Wayo sushi which I highly recommend. It’s convenient for transportation. Will definitely be staying outside the city on our next visit, San Francisco is just not what it used to be.

Dodgy people outside building, Tearing in bed sheets and pillows were of made of foam pieces.. not comfortable Room was shabby and not like picture. Kitchenette had no cutlery, plates, cups, spoons… it had nothing When I queried this, they did not see this as a problem So come from overseas they expect me to bring glasses, plates etc. room so bad we left and booking into another hotel

I rarely write reviews, but this place left me no choice. The Good is the location, everything you could want is nearby including transport to the local sights. Parking is manageable at low cost, if you work out the street parking times. Now for the bad, the hotel has a security system, that seems to work well, but our neighbours room was robbed while locked. The Elevator didn't work which was bad for my disabled wife, even after fixing it, it wouldn't stop at our floor. The place was probably quite nice when new, but looks run down now. Our room had not been swept or the bins emptied, we had no remote for the tv, no smoke alarm fitted, no AC/heating. Our bed was broken, then fixed and broken again. We asked for all these things to be fixed multiple times, apart from the bed, our requests seem to have been ignored. The wifi on our floor was awful, but better on other floors, so ok. Single glazed windows onto the street made sleeping tough but doable.

Given the wrong room and the other guest was still staying in the room. I was given the correct info,then asked to go back personally and make sure the incorrect room was locked! Staff appeared in my opinion to be under the influence, and was told hotel is inappropriatefor kids. I had my 10yr son with me. After given the correct room it was very dirty. Linens, floors and sink were unclean. Didn't stay due to safety concerns and status of the room. I did get a full refund through Expedia.

Front desk is just a guy at a folding table. Rooms are up a narrow staircase (elevator is broken) and down dingy hallways. Bed wasn't made when I got there and someone else's pee in the toilet. Left immediately. Place is a scam.

This has been the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and the property is one of those shady hotels that most likely rents the rooms by the hour!! There were Homeless people with tents living out the front of the hotel and when I first checked in the room had no working lights in the bathroom and only 1 light in the bedroom worked and the other light just had paper stuffed up into the empty light fitting, its nothing like the pictures show on the internet and they shouldn't be allowed to advertise this. The carpet areas on stairs have never seen a vacuum cleaner!! I went out to get some food and when I came back my door lock wouldn't open the room after calling the manager as there was no one on-site, he told me the battery on the door must be flat so he would get me another room for the night, I complained about the room and said that's not acceptable as all my cloths were locked in the room, so the manager did get someone to come and open the door and the other room was slightly better but still not acceptable, The next day I tried to find another hotel but everything I looked at was booked out due to some event that was on in SF. Anyway the next night I had yelling and screaming in the room opposite my room with a man yelling I will kick the door in and your scammers and haven't paid for the room. It was a hotel staff member trying to evict so doggy people. Overall extremly bad DONOT stay here you have been warned.

Ugly building..Elevator was broken so I had to drag my bags up 2 flights of steep stairs. (Looked like it had been broken for a while.) Shower door was broken so water poured onto floor Helpful desk clerk on duty sometimes, not all the time.

This property was hard to find. Once I noticed their faded sign in the window I was questioning if they were open or not. It’s in an area where a lot of buildings are boarded up. I tried the door which was locked. The door has mirrored film so you can’t see inside. I felt really uneasy. It doesn’t appear they want guests there. I chose to make other arrangements for a hotel that makes their guests feel welcome. I have no hope of getting any money back but I’m glad I didn’t stay there. I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased.

This property is awful. It is not a three star hotel, more like homeless shelter. The place is unsafe because access to the room is by code, which means anybody who knows the code can enter the room. The codes are not changed after each guest checks out. The good reviews are fake. The property is so bad that we wanted to move.Since the manager didn't give us a refund, we ended up booking another hotel and losing more than 1000$ on this one.

Unfortunately this hotel did not meet our expectation. The pictures were nice and the location is good as well, but the cleaning was not perfect, doors did not seem safe enough and our room was a bit run down.

DO NOT BOOK - there are bugs in the room and bed!!! They provide a code for the front door and the room door which is a nontraditional experience. The hotel is in a suspicious looking building that is heavily graffitied, there isn't even a sign outside to mark the hotel. The only staff was a guy at the front that didn't know anything. Do not book this place, save your money.

The room was not prepared after we waited an extra 1 hour and 30 min after the set check in Time. My daughter had to use the bathroom without tissue and we had to clean up our room ourselves because the janitor did not come until after 7 when my daughter was finally asleep after a long flight. We had to wait outside with our luggage after letting the clerk know we had arrived to sfo airport 30 min prior to getting to the hotel. The tv remote is missing. Our door does not properly close and secure our family. The smoke detector is missing. Last but not least, the staff was impatient and very argumentative
