"We enjoyed our stay here as well as the easy proximity to the cloud forest. Our daily breakfast was delicious. Any wonderful way to start our day. We even saw Coati’s playing around in the yard while we were eating. The rooms are outdated, but they were clean. The view from our room was spectacular."

"Balcony offered great sunset views. Hotel had awesome view point with humming birds and great trails to experience nature as well as peacocks right on property. It's conveniently located near all activities and property is well maintained. Staff is great , very helpful. "

"Room is ok, wish they had some counter space to put out stuff, they just had a small standalone sink and a bench next to it. Great location, cozy little hotel. Love the “reading” area right outside of our rooms, felt like a living room :-). This place is very windy, was waken up a few times because of the wind, but it has nothing to do with the hotel itself. "

"It's a lowkey quiet place right across the street from the shuttle for the cloud forest. Staff was super friendly. We went during the off season, so it was super quiet. There's a shared office space for working from."

"We were going back and forth between a few different properties and we are so glad we ended up going with this one!!! The staff was amazing and attentive (especially Hamid and Kevin), the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as easy and comfortable as possible, the bedding was great, and the grounds made you feel like you were on a retreat. We loved the intimate feel and getting to know the staff. We were sad to leave but look forward to the opportunity to return!"

"I don’t recommend this hotel. Our room had zero ventilation so it got very hot and stuffy at night. There was no fan or ac so it was hard to sleep. There was zero housekeeping and when I needed items like toilet paper or a towel I had to find someone at the front desk - most of the time staff was no where to be found and the front desk was unattended. The hot water in the shower cut off halfway through my shower twice. The most upsetting thing was that we booked this hotel based on the fact it advertised a hot tub. We immediately wanted to use it once we checked in and found it completely cold. The pool was dirty and unkempt as well. They said they would turn it on but over the next few hours it only got marginally hotter, no where close to being an actual hot tub. Same thing happened the next day, it was very cold and wet out and we wanted nothing more than to relax in a hot tub. We go down in our bathing suits, cold once again. I’m sure they keep it off to save money but don’t advertise a hot tub if it’s never going to be kept hot. It was very disappointing."

"What a wonderful stay!! We got into Villa Golondrina after a long day of travel. The house was spotless, extremely comfortable, and there was a nice welcome package with some items for breakfast the next morning. When I woke up I was greeted by the extraordinary views of the rain forest and the valley below. The house is located about a ten minute drive from Santa Elena where there are some very nice restaurants and places to shop. It is also very well located for visiting the hiking trails into the Cloud Forest. If you happen to have a student studying abroad at CIEE Monteverde, the campus is located about 5 minutes from Villa Golondrina. If you are visiting the area, please do not hesitate to stay here. Villa Golondrina will be a great home base to see the area. "
