"Our family had a wonderful stay at Koora Hotel in Monteverde. The suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and offered breathtaking views of the cloud forest and beyond. The location is ideal—close to town and major attractions, yet peaceful and surrounded by nature. We especially loved having both the Aguti Biological Reserve and the Natuwa Wildlife Sanctuary right next door, where we enjoyed scenic trails and spotted local wildlife up close. The service was excellent, warm, and attentive throughout our stay. The breakfasts were delicious, and the bar and restaurant were a great place to relax in the evenings. Koora Hotel offers the perfect combination of comfort, convenience, and natural beauty—a great choice for families visiting Monteverde."

Beautiful Stay in Monteverde

"Aloha! We were kindly greeted by Esteban at the front desk. We booked a room with a mountain view and it did not disappoint. Our room was clean and comfortable. There was not a fridge in the room but the front desk will store them in the restaurant refrigerator if you would like. Though it was remotely located the place offered everything we needed including amazing food at the restaurant. We had breakfast daily, lunch and 2 dinner on 2 occasions. Our compliments to the chefs Patricia and Merlin. Jason and Alejandro provided excellent service. The hotel was within walking distance for ticket and transportation to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. The hotel offers a shuttle to town every hour, until 1:30 pm, for $2 USD each. The last shuttle from town to the hotel is at 2 pm. The hotel can call a taxi, if needed, for $12 USD one way. In town you can find a taxi in front of the church. We highly recommend Trapp Family Hotel in Monteverde. Pura Vida! Mahalo! L and L Travels with Aloha "

"The Rancho de Lelo was AMAZING! When we arrived, Beatriz was so kind to us and very helpful. She helped us planning activities and she recommended restaurants. It was probably the best welcome that we ever experienced at a hotel! The Rancho is located on a great property. It's beautiful, peaceful and very quiet! It's a family-owned hotel. They even have their own coffee plantation. The rooms are private "cabanas", so cabin style. The breakfast is delicious. The pool has nice clean natural water (no chlorine). There are very friendly dogs on the property and they were my son's trip highlight in Monteverde! The Rancho is located about 25 min from Santa Elena, the nearest town. The views from the town to the Rancho are absolutely stunning!"

"My husband and I recently stayed at Fincas Aquarius for two nights while exploring Monteverde, as we wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle. The location is a little difficult to get to without a good car, but it’s absolutely worth the effort. Fincas Aquarius is nestled in a beautiful valley, with wide-sweeping views all the way down to the ocean. It’s honestly breathtakingly beautiful. Once we arrived, we were greeted by our host, the incredibly welcoming Jan. He made us feel super welcome, and honestly was such an amazing host. Nothing was too much trouble, even to the point where he rescued us when our car got stuck up a rather tricky hill nearby (tip - get a four-wheel-drive car!) Our room was incredible, featuring a sleek and modern design, a beautifully comfortable bed, and possibly one of the biggest bathrooms I’ve seen. The room was very spacious, but the main highlight was the balcony, showing off that million-dollar view. We ate with Jan on both nights, as we didn’t fancy driving into Monteverde after dark. He was a fantastic cook, and it was lovely that he opens his kitchen to guests. The food was great, and he uses a lot of ingredients he grows on-site. Locally, there are lots of things to do. We had a great time at The Original Canopy Tour, Finca Ecologica San Luis which is just down the road, and El Cafetal Coffee Tour which was fantastic. Overall, we had an incredible time staying at Fincas Aquarius. The entire experience was fantastic."
