"We had a nice stay at the Jaguarundi Lodge. There were definitely pluses and minuses to the accommodation. On the plus side, the staff was lovely and the cabin was very clean. It was definitely rustic, but was nestled in the jungle and so it was a cool immersive experience. We had coati, agouti and lots of birds at our doorstep. The breakfast buffet was very good and was served in their sister hotel, the Ficus. There was also a great happy hour there with a gorgeous view across the mountains to the ocean. The hotel was right in town so we could easily walk to restaurants. On the minus side, the cabin is adjoining another one. The walls were so thin that you could hear the neighbour rolling over in bed, snoring and chatting during the night. We had a great sleep the first night when the cabin next door was empty but after that it was noisy. The paths between the buildings are very steep. This wasn't a problem for us but it should be considered if you have mobility issues. Finally, we found a scorpion on our bag on the last morning. If you don't like creepy crawlies, you might not be happy here."

"Super cute inn. This place was fantastic. We loved the breakfast - fresh fruit and made to order breakfast. The common area was lovely and allowed our family to play games and hang out in the evenings. We even used the kitchen one night to cook dinner and this was a great option. The staff were super helpful and friendly. "

"My sole complaint is that I wish we could have stayed longer! An absolutely idyllic place to stay while visiting the area. The people working were lovely, the cabin was beautiful, there were so many incredible birds to see just relaxing on the deck, and groceries and restaurants were within walking distance. I would definitely return."

"Staff were all so welcoming and friendly throughout our stay… and helpful with any questions we had about the area. They made us feel at home. Coffee and water was always available in dining area and breakfast each morning was lovely - orange juice, fruit, toast and jam with a selection of 4 different breakfasts. Tours could be arranged and shops and restaurants were all close by- lovely relaxing place to stay"

"This is a beautiful and very thoughtful hotel in Monteverde. The rooms are well laid out and each has an incredible view of the Nicoya Peninsula in the distance. The balcony was amazing. The vibe of the hotel, its property and the area in general are very relaxing and peaceful. The staff are incredible and make the place so inviting. Breakfasts are included and delicious. We had all three of our dinners at the hotel and were pleased with the taste and variety. The jacuzzi is delightful. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an upscale but not overly expensive (that's all relative today) stay in Monteverde."

"Milady, her daughter and Mom were so welcoming! Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious served with fruit, eggs, toast and pinto. Juice also available. What was absolutely so special about this place was the monkeys, coatis, agutis right at the back door where we could hand feed them. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip"
