We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed next to the spa and hot tub and it was great. We had a great court yard. It was nice there was a bar on premises. Who knew it was the hippest place to be!

Having stayed here previously and having enjoyed our stay, had looked forward to our return. Sadly this trip did not measure up in some ways: - Slight scare at check in but manager was able to clear up and even offer drink chips! - Rooms need updating but are still comfortable and clean - Disappointed with events causing limited parking especially without advanced notice! Saturdays event was a bit raucous and caused several attendees to roam the hallways, not sure as a group of women if we felt safe or just more guarded - Staff was pleasant and location, history and charm seem to bring about our still finding El Rdy one of our fav places in SF!

Charming old motel. It has a lot of character. The property and the bar are wonderful. My room was a little rough—dim, old thermostat that wasn’t removed, half finished bathroom door. It was clean and perfect for my needs. Some road noise, but not bad.

We have been coming here for years as we visit relatives. I love the room decor and the history. The street is very busy and walking anywhere can be exciting, but the El Rey is clean and the staff are always helpful and professional. The only part I don't like is the rise in rates. The bar with live music is nice. We will continue to stay here on our yearly trip.

Unique southwestern ambience, relaxing atmosphere. Felt safe walking around courtyard all times day or night. Comfortable rooms with attached small room we used as office as my wife worked remotely during our stay.
