Herbert House

10/10 Excellent

"Would absolutely stay again. This is a beautiful private house that rents rooms and has a great breakfast. The staff is fantastically friendly and helpful. The breakfast is not only a good deal price-wise, but is delicious and all-you-can-eat. They have a coffee room down the hall where you can make coffee, use the refrigerator, or sit to sip tea and a siting room on the front of the house. The breakfast is served in the rear dining room which opens up the to the solarium across the back of the house that looks out across their nicely decorated back yard (this is where we ate each morning). There only downsides are that this is not elevator, so you have to carry your suitcase to the 2nd floor up the stairs and they have no air conditioning, but it was not needed while we were there."

"the room had the most disgusting smell i had to wear my eye mask around my nose with perfume on it bathroom was minimal there is no security anyone could walk in it's older than old and there's an elevator but one your off it you still have to lift ur bags in many places to get to your room and nowhere to park your car couldn't wait to get out of there"

The Lake Hotel Killarney

"Hotel is situated on a stunning piece of property. The views from the restaurant / bar and patio area were absolutely gorgeous, with the lake and mountains in the background as well as the properties own little ruin. We spent hours enjoying the views. The location is great, being right on the edge of Killarney National Park. The hotel actually is close enough to hike directly into Killarney National Park. Can walk to Muckross Abbey in about 30 minutes. From there you can walk / hike to Muckross House and Torc Waterfall. Was fairly easy for us to drive the Ring of Kerry and also Slea Head Drive. Were able to take in the views at every meal and the staff always made every effort to seat you right by a window, if possible. The food overall was good to very good, with a fairly expansive breakfast buffet. The room was very nice - clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff was so friendly and helpful. When one of our 3rd party bookings for a boat trip fell through they were able to book us on the Gap of Dunloe tour at the last minute. The tour was great and saved our day. Wish we could have squeezed time to try out the thermal spa. Looked so nice and so relaxing. Parking right at the hotel was nice to have. Couldn't recommend the hotel highly enough."

"Wonderful, luxurious stay. We were looked after so well by the staff who are really attentive, thoughtful and helpful. The concierge, John, was brilliant throughout and ensured we made the most of our time in Killarney. Lunch in the restaurant was delightful, there are fabulous views. Breakfast was a great showcase of local delicious produce and a lovely experience."
