Beautiful location in amazing village. Room was okay for few nights although possibly may need a bit more deep clean at some point in time as few things felt overlooked.
All in all pkeased with our stay!
Happy with everything offered from check in to check out, made perfect by the glorious weather. A room only stay in an excellent location. Car parking in close by council car park, permit provided. Plenty of places to eat and excellent cafes on beach that open early for breakfast. There is a bit of noise from gulls/crows first thing but then it is seaside ! Lovely countryside as well. Earplugs provided if you aren't a nature lover or very light sleeper. Had a great weekend.
Lovely night away.
Arrived a little early, and intended grabbing some lunch in Seaton/Beer before checking in but received a text to say Keys were ready an hour early.
Plenty of space in Public Long Stay opposite and used free permit supplied. We had the Blue Room. Plenty big enough, with everything supplied you could need. Very nicely decorated and presented. Bathroom superb. Iron/hair dryer/fridge. Water and wine complimentary…. You don’t get this at some bigger chain hotels!
Not too fussed about lack of breakfast, who wants to get up early anyway! Enjoyed the lay in and took at stroll to Tea Rooms for breakfast.
Lovely place, would certainly come here again!
The four star rating for this property is highly deceptive.
There are basically no amenities on the site except for a 10 s.f. lobby.
There is no lift, just steep stairs. The reference to beach bar and terrace is very misleading.
The photos suggest immediate proximity to the beach but the property abuts roads and a car park and has no view of anything to speak of.
The bathroom is tiny and uncomfortable. No Kleenex are provided.
I checked out the website on Beer to see what accommodation was suitable. The Belmont was in the perfect location, right opposite the central carpark with we had a free parking permit, the Belmont website gave excellent info on the area the beach 5/10mins walk the beach has food& refreshment available and deck chairs £2 for the day. Local walks are definitely a must .. the Belmont accommodation was clean a well equipped kitchen as we took the ground floor apartment all very comfortable , keys left for collection and kept updated by text from the owners . We can highly recommend a visit to the Belmont
It was ok. No breakfast, no sign of life or friendly welcome- just an envelope in the porch with a key, a parking permit and a threatening statement of a £108 fine if I didnt return it. Welcome to Beer. Tiny un practical ensuite. Overall not worth £100 in my opinion. Beer itself was delightful and the Dolphin served a great meal.
Had to wait on car park for free space when we arrived, not a major problem. Wonderful location as very short walk to beach and restaurants. Deckchairs just a £1 per session, can sit on for free in the evening. Clean property, Buck’s Fizz and small bottle of red wine awaiting us as well as usual teas, coffee and chocolate.
We were in the blue room with a very long settee. Beautiful large towels, loads of hot water.
Downsides were the barking dogs adjacent (realise owners can’t do much about that). Saw this mentioned on previous reviews but just thought people a bit fussy as they also complained about seagulls. Did disrupt my sleep.
On a room level, it was a little difficult accessing the bathroom as the edge of the tv was behind the door. Couldn’t pass each other at the base of the bed either. No bedside table on the one side as bed adjacent to wardrobe. Quite small rooms as may be aspected in a cottage. Fine for a few days. I do think there should be a better mattress on the bed. Not very thick and on a slatted bed, this didn’t help sleep either
Lovely hotel, very well managed and location is very nice. We ate at Gina’s a couple of times, the house wine and Thai green curry are recommended. Have your breakfast at Ducks on the beach.
Room was very small, but it didn’t matter as I only just slept in it and was out for most of the day. Great use of space. The other rooms are very close and you can hear other people but again not an issue
Simon could not have been more helpful! Yes, the room was quite small but it is an old fishermans cottage so what do you expect 😎 as a one or two nighter this is an ideal location and would use again. Breakfast across the road at the Dolphin hotel was easily sorted.
