I think the property photos on Expedia are a bit like false advertising. The location is okay, nice and close to seongsan ilchulbul. Beds are comfortable. Negatives: there is no sound insulation. I heard everydoor, every conversation and every draining pipe on the floor and all the noises from outside. The room was really dark and also the hallway was poorly lit (the hallways of nightmares). We were put on the fifth floor, and as soon as you got off the elevator you were greeted with a hose coming out of the ceiling and draining into buckets. The smell was odd, very chemically and strong. Maybe their rooftop pool was leaking...I didn't go investigate. Housekeeping was sparse. They came in daily and made the bed and replaced towels. The cups weren't replaced but they did put new covers on them. We realized that they weren't replaced when the same lip prints were on the one mug the next day. I checked out 2 days early and went and stayed at a different hotel. I had had enough poor sleep from noise and breathing in the fumes that I opted to lose the money spent on the room.
They take the 3pm check in time VERY seriously—we showed up at 2:30 and they wouldn’t even check to see if the room might be ready. So we waited in the lobby with about 25 other people all waiting to check in which meant that at 3 pm there was a big line....so kind of annoying. Just be aware. The location was not really close to much, but the rooms were clean. The AC is not adjustable so the room was too warm for our liking, making it difficult to sleep well.
What we liked: Toilet has an automatic bidet; outdoor balcony; view facing Seongsan Ilchulbong which was amazing to watch the sunrise from the comfort of your own room. What we didn't like - automatic sensor lights at the doorway is too bright, and the glass wall between the bathroom and bedroom did not block out light. So, if you're sharing a room with a few other people, be ready to be rudely awakened by midnight toilet trips.
