Comfortable, serene and cozy

The lodge is located in a very serene location, right by the Bear Creek with beautiful views. The hosts were awesome in communicating the instructions and accommodating special dietary restrictions. The room was cozy and fair enough for a one night stay. Special shout out to Skye, who was extra helpful with everything.

Only 5 hours since checkin. So perhaps too early for a comprehensive review. But preliminarily the Bear Lake Lodge is excellent. Bre is a good host. Physical facilities such as our room, bathroom, common areas, parking all satisfactory. The views of the lake and trees…gorgeous. Unfortunately a cold snowy/rainy day but we accept what we get. The end of 20 glorious days all over Alaska. Would like to return and stay longer with Bear Lake. Btw, did a one hour flight with Joey (co-owner of Bear Lake Lodge and husband to Bre) of AA Seward Aid Tours over the Harding Ice Field. Stunning. Well worth the cost.

Great great great place

Really a fantastic place to be. Go for ride on the lake for free. Wake up to delicious breakfast being served by the round table. 5 minutes drive to town - and 5 minutes to Exit glacier. What’s not to like.

Perfect place close to Seward!

The place was beautiful and very celan. We had a wonderful complimentary ice cream dessert before bed and breakfast was exceptional. Very friendly staff. Would highly recommend!

Comfortable stay

We stayed for two nights in the tiehacker room with a bathroom in the room. It was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good and the ice cream bars at night were greatly appreciated. Unfortunately it rained during our stay so we did not use the lake but if the weather was better that would have been a blast.

he best B &B in Alaska!

There are tons of things to do right at the bed and breakfast. Canoeing, kayaking, watching bald eagles, seeing the salmon run are all right there. The hosts are very knowledgeable about the area and have binders full of restaurants in the area along with another binder with hiking trails. They are gracious enough to make you a copy of any hiking map you need. The beds were very comfortable and our rooms were spacious. Breakfast was delicious! Also who can pass up a homage ice cream treat in the evening? Our family highly recommends Bear Lake Lodgings.

Great amenities and location

Pat and Dennis (and innkeeper Margie) made sure everything was clean, comfortable, and relaxed. The large house is located in a beautiful location, secluded but only a short drive from Seward. Wish we‘d had time to partake of kayaking on the lake — and our booked activities left too early in the morning to partake of Margie’s home-cooked breakfasts, which sounded great. But she did make to-go breakfast/snack boxes for us, which was a nice touch and very appreciated. An unexpected treat was that they served free hand-dipped (in chocolate and rolled in toppings) gourmet ice cream bars in the evenings, and even at the shack they run in Seward. Great place for couples or families, just don’t do what we did... be sure to leave yourself some time to enjoy the breakfasts and the lake!

Hidden gem

We were there for one night after a long day of Kenai Fjord tours. Its a neat little B&B nestled by a small and calm lake. Margie was fantastic host. There were trails and salmon watching nearby. Also have kayak but we didn't use them. We ended our stay with a lovely breakfast served and ready for the next adventure.
