"We were obsessed with this hotel. It was so pretty and eclectic inside, great art and decor in the rooms. Staff was so nice and the breakfast was to die for. We did a very impromptu whisky tasting and learned a lot- it was better than the whisky tour we did earlier in the week. We were sad to go and can’t wait to visit again! "
"Good location for exploring Edinburgh. Lots of nice restaurants nearby.
Apartment was very nice. Only complaint was the bed which wasn't very comfortable. Mattress could use replacing."

"The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was very cozy and clean. The shower water pressure was amazing and I loved the towel warmer. I could of used Extra pillows which I'm sure if I asked I would have received. I would definitely stay there again."
"This boutique hotel is 5* all the way. Staff is exceptional - friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful with a choice off the menu as well as a lovely assortment of choices from the buffet. The room was lovely and roomy. Bed was very comfortable. Nice complementary treats and non alcoholic drinks stocked daily in the room. Very convenient location as we walked from train station across the street upon arrival and picked up our rental car there upon departure. During our 2 day stay, we were able to walk everywhere from the hotel. Lots of good restaurants nearby, "
"We paid for the Castle view room-- it was amazing-- well worth it. We were there in late July/early August-- fireworks and music you could see from the room every night. Very busy area with lots of shops and pubs but things close early-- not loud when you want to sleep..."
"I liked the fact that it was a historic building, but the room was fully modern with great amenities. I loved the view of the castle from my room as well.
The staff were above and beyond fabulous.
I only have one complaint. The toilet was in its own little compartment and a bright light came on when one entered. This light could not be turned off. As someone who gets up during the night to use the toilet, that light was very shocking to the system. It would be wonderful if there was an option to disable it."
"I selected this hotel because it was a) close to the shopping district in Edinburgh b) it was well priced relative to other hotels 3) it was an apartment style hotel which gave allowed us to be more comfortable for a longer stay.
What we liked about the hotel:
- The staff were super helpful and friendly
- The room was actually a 1 bedroom apartment, which allowed us to have a space for sleeping that was separate from the bathroom/kitchen/living space (great for people handling jet lag)
- There was a washer in the room, and a rack to hang clothes to dry (so helpful!). There were also instructions on how to use all the appliances: dishwasher, coffee machine, etc.
- The location was close to everything we needed, but tucked away from the fray.
What could have been better:
- The safe wouldn't lock and the black out blind buttons weren't responding. I'm sure that I could have asked those to be fixed, but we were always on the go so never got around to it
- The lobby is tiny, and there wasn't a place for meeting hanging out as you enter.
- There were what seemed a hundred fire doors from the lobby to our room, which made it hard to navigate with luggage.
That said, the negatives were pretty small relative to the value. I recommend this place, and I would stay there again in the future."
