We had a lovely 2 night stay at Onyado Yuinoshou In Shirakawa. Room was amazing and the experience of a private outdoor spa. Also wearing no shoes & Yukata was a lovely experience. Amazing to be only 5 mins drive to Shirawawa go heritage village.

A must place to visit in Japan. Great ambience, delicious breakfast and dinner. Hot springs tub in private outdoors. Great place to hike with amazing view of small town from the top. Lots of gift shops and snack stores. Restaurants had long wait list. Air was clean, weather was perfect for T-shirt wear. During rain, there was a mist floating in the mountains. Love this place!!

We loved it. We had a beautiful broom looking over the river. It was a spacious suite. We loved the clothes that came with staying in the Onsen. We had both suppers and breakfasts which were world class. The hot spring itself was a delightful surprise. The shuttle to get into town was convenient enough and we could always find a shuttle when we want to leave or come back. We spent two days there. I would go back in a heartbeat. The view looking over the river was spectacular. I’m not so sure if we had had a room looking out on the parking lot.

A beautiful hotel/room and the public bath is excellent. It’s a bit far from the tourist areas but there are free shuttles from the hotel.

The room we stayed was on the 3rd floor room 310 and it is has 2 separate room. The big room can has like a king bed with tv. The other room has the 2 twin bed with living room couch, tv, bathroom and shower room. Our view was the river which was very beautiful. I wish that they provide more channels on the tv. The amenities are superb. The dining and breakfast is more on japanese food which is quite expensive. No washer and dryer in this facility. Will come back again

The property is really nice and clean, but service is really slow . Took almost an hour from waiting for pickup to complete the check in process. The waitress forgot me after she seated me and gave me the littlei nitial introduction of the breakfast. She didn't come back to get the order of my choice until I waved a pass by staff after over 20 minutes wait. I had never experienced this kind of service in any ryokan I have been.

Really nice spot stay a night or 2 to enjoy Shirakawago. Facility amenities is unmatched. Onsite onsen is nice ( private/public). A bit far from the bus station however they do have shuttle service to the bus station and back. Highly recommended especially with a large party.

Oh dear where to begin. The stay was totally unnecessary and I would advise you to visit the gasso houses & town but then continue onwards to wherever you’re headed. Do not stay as The town offers nothing else. The hotel is a 50 room property with small public onsen. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed but furniture is very low. However it felt like a commercial people factory and I didn’t enjoy my stay despite the free ramen option 10-11pm or the free booze and snacks (very welcome and appreciated). Also the free shuttle to and from the station. Shirakawa-Go is a must see area (do make the climb to the observation area) but then it’s time to scarper and get out of dodge!!

No food unless you pre order. We had to skip dinner because the staff would not accommodate. No restaurants nearby and no modes of transportation. We felt unwanted and unappreciated.

Located about a 30 min walk from the bus terminal, the hotel runs a silver van shuttle every 20 minutes or so. This is a newer hotel, but has many delightful traditional elements. The whole place has a tatami mat like flooring, so shoes are left in lockers upon entering. The lobby area is built with old looking timber in the style of gasho buildings. The rooms were wonderfully done with the nice smell of tatami. The baths are wonderful with both interior and outside tubs in a variety of styles. They offer up nice extras like popsicles, free coffee after baths, and a 10:00 PM bowl of ramen, wonderful after an evening soak in the hotsprings. They have dinner and breakfast options at the hotel, but you need to order when you make your reservation, not on the spot when you arrive. We didn’t and soon found the eating options in town are limited. We did manage to find a nice yakiniku shop a 20 min walk from the hotel (call and reserve ahead when you check in) The atmosphere of the hotel is wonderful and very much in the culture of ryokan.
