We had no idea what to expect as we booked last minute without doing any research nor looking at pictures. Also the name, One & Only Desaru, is somewhat non-descript, it doesn't evoke much...
This is a 5-star resort, an oasis secluded from the world, large luxurious villas, private beaches and all -- and also, I guess, from paparazzis! That kind of a place.
Top, top, top.
Will return for sure.

Great access to beach and good seafood restaurent. Property is not well maintained, beach side cafe was under maintenance , breakfast buffet could be a lot better.

The best thing of the hotel is the staff. They were friendly, accomodating and helpful. Other than that, the hotel is poorly maintained. The bathroom is a disaster. Pool is dirty as well. I understand covid may have affected the maintenance but the owner does need to consider investing in infrastructure. ...
