"Didn’t have a pet nor use gym"

"This property is a bit worse for wear. It’s in a cool historic building, but it’s not maintained well. The mattress seemed old based on how soft it was, the paint was chipping, and the room wasn’t as clean as I would expect from a hotel (e.g., hairs in the shower, marks in the toilet). I don’t see how this is a 4 star hotel in its current state."

"Several staff members were unengaging and fairly curt. The car valet guys were nice but having to valet the car every time we used it was inconvenient and expensive. During our 4 night stay, the room was only serviced the third morning at my request because I had spilled coffee on the sheet the first night and they didn't service our room at all the next day. They only did it the second morning because I requested it. The first night I also found a long dark hair on one of the hand towels and placed it on the floor to be replaced but no one came the next day. Our coffee pods and sugar in the room were never replaced and the trash wasn't emptied, even on the one day we had service. The Kelly hotel is attractive but we're not likely to stay again, which is a shame since our son and DIL live in Birmingham and we visit often."

"I am extremely disappointed with this hotel and strongly urge others to avoid it. The property was in unacceptable condition—shabby, dirty, and clearly neglected. From the moment I arrived, it was obvious that basic cleanliness and maintenance standards were not being met. I did not feel comfortable or safe staying there, and the environment was far below what any guest should reasonably expect. Because of these issues, I made the decision not to stay at the hotel at all. Despite this, the management refused to provide a refund, which is completely unacceptable given the condition of the property. Charging guests for a stay they cannot reasonably proceed with due to poor conditions is unprofessional and unethical. This experience was frustrating and disappointing from start to finish. Between the lack of cleanliness, concerns about safety, and refusal to issue a refund, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone."

"This room was disgusting. Holes in the walls. TV falling off the wall. Baseboards look like years of build up. Pubic hair in bed. No sheet beneath the blanket. Did not supply bedding for pull out even though they knew we have 4 occupants. Supplied only one washcloth and 3 towels. Holes in the towels, and they looked dirty. Never provided additional requested towels and washcloths. Two people didn't stay. They slept on the floor of a hotel room with a friend, rather than sleeping on the disgusting pull out sofa bed. It was filthy! Onlne pictures do not represent what this unit actually looks like, other than it is correct placement of the furniture. After waiting 11 hours for towels and washcloths, we left. So far they have only refunded us one night. This was a nightmare. Don't believe the pictures advertised."
