The photo shows a beautiful lodge, which it is, but that is not where the room is. It was in an old lodge in front of it. The room was tiny and musty with old furnishings. The breakfast was good but it is not free.

Delightful Alaskan Lodge Experience
We had a delightful stay for four nights in the Mountain View suite - great views and what a comfortable bed! Very large room, clean and comfortable. Lodge is very nice with a great staff - we thoroughly enjoyed our interactions with every member of the staff and the owner who all went out of their way to be helpful with not only anything we needed regarding our stay but also recommendations about things to do and see in the area. Great views of the surrounding mountains from the lodge and the grounds. Dinners at the lodge, which were a single option pre-fixe menu this time of year were outstanding!

We loved the location and especially the view from the upper level and our lower level room as well. The log structure was amazing. The only thing that we had an issue with was the temperature in our room. There is radiant heat in the concrete floor, unfortunately it was left on and our room was very uncomfortably hot for our 1 night stay. We left the windows open, but it did not help and after turning that heat off for the entire night, the floor was still warm in the morning. Otherwise the room was very nice.

Incredible stay, I’ve stayed in the lodge for three days and everything there was amazing. The scenery at the upper deck was spectacular with the view of the snow peak Chugach mountain. The facilities were clean and tidy, and staff members were always friendly and happy to help with everything.

Not senior citizen friendly. Beds are table height, difficult to get into. No chair in the room. Stairs to the main level are very steep with narrow treads. Our room was on the lower level, under the dining room. We heard every footstep above us. The property itself is beautiful, and probably great for the younger folks.

The property was beautiful! They host many weddings and you can see why with the stunning mountains for a background. Very nice people running the place and the food was delicious.

Well, beautiful property but... the cabin was bare bones. Two beds, a bathroom and not much else. The toilet would not fill. They provided gallon jugs to fill the tank. The bathroom sink was a trickle. Biggest complaint? There was no place to gather and just sit. We hung out in the dining room but a fireplace and lounge area would have been super. Beautiful scenery but other than dining and a place to sleep not much else. For a lodge we expected a fireplace and some couches/lounge chairs.

The setting is breathtaking. Staff are very friendly. The rooms are very basic with no cellphone coverage or tv. Very close to Matanuska Glacier.

Great service. They kept in contact with me before I checked in to ensure proper check in. Even at 12:00 AM ( when we checked in), they helped us with very nice attitude. They even arranged an extra bed for us! A five star stay!

This is an amazing resort. The mountain view is priceless. Staff is very professional. After hours I got invited to the fire pit by the staff and it was my pleasure to discover tgat the employees really care about this place!

Lots of construction on the property. There was no electricity or hot water from the time we checked in till we were in bed sleeping. Dinner was on the pricey side and was cold. The lodge rooms that we stayed in had paper thin walls and were not very clean. The staff was not very engaging with a few exceptions. Overall a lousy first experience at this particular lodge.

The rooms have about a 1’x1’ window and are like dingy hunting cabins, the pictures of the lodge may not be where you are staying. I booked same day and refused the room 4 hours later and was not refunded $533.

I booked two queen beds room on Expedia, didn’t expect had to share bathroom with guests in the room next to our room. If the room didn’t have its own bathroom connected, this should be clearly mentioned in the description. If I knew this when I book, I would not book it at all. The room is nice with comfortable bed, but it is kind of small on the second floor of a restaurant. You can hear people talking and come in and out in the first floor. Overall, this is a weird experience. This place is also named as a ski resort.

I stayed at this property over the summer (sorry the review is late). Staff was amazing, food was wonderful (make sure you reserve when you you you'll be eating there) I was sorry that my stay was so short. Please remember that Alaska is HUGE and plan for it. I would stay longer in the Mat-Su Valley, especially this area if I ever go back. Thanks for the wonderful stay and awesome staff!!!

Pictures shown are newest addition to lodge. There are 2 older lodging buildings. The bathrooms are new but the venting or drain field is not correct leaving a sewage smell in the room. Tiny fridge in community room, none in guest room. Property is beautiful and scenic, mountainous location.

Great Lodge setting. Wish we had more time to enjoy the property got in super late. Web aite needs to be update room 12 does not have 2 queen beds. Which made sleeping for 4 very tight. Breakfast was certainly worth waiting until being served at 9. Would like to come back during winter and try helio-skiing

Magic in majestic valley
This lodge is amazing. The view is unique with a big porch to gaze at it from. Dinner was the best seafood we had in all of Alaska and the service is incomparable.

We did not like the way we were treated by management. They ignored our reservation and threw us into a bunker. They could of told us that their Wedding Party eliminated our reservation well ahead of the event.

Dear Guest, I am sorry that you had such a horrible experience, however, you had plenty of opportunity to voice your displeasure, but you did not utter a word while here. First of all, yes we had a wedding this weekend, I am sorry that It inconvenienced you during your stay. Second, You booked a room in our Glacier Hall Rooms, which is in the shape of an old dorm, not a bunker. Your room assignment did not change, you stayed in the room you booked. As I remember the only thing that was impacted negatively during your stay was the dinner service. For that I truly apologize, as was done on the night of as well. Fantastic spot
Great place on the Glenn highway. Best spot to stay to visit the Matanuska glacier and it's activities, or just relax (or heli ski in the winter). Steve, CJ and the staff go out of their way to make it welcoming. Just note - if you want to eat at the on site restaurant, you have to order in advance; very few other options nearby. But overall great stay - love the disc golf, fireplace, hot tub and great ambience in general.
