Pleasant experience and will stay here next time!
I stayed in a female dorm room for one night. Overall a very pleasant experience! Pros: Location is excellent! Close to the night market and there's also a bus stop nearby. Clean and quiet. Lobby is comfy. Breakfast cost me only NT$ 25 extra and was well worth the price. Nintendo Switch and all kinds of boardgames in lobby! Microwave and fridge in the dorm level. Tea bags and 3-in-1 coffee provided. Tons of shops around yet pretty quiet at night! Personal curtain blocks out the light for a good night sleep. Cons: They don't provide towels so make sure you bring your own. Flooded outside the female shower room. Was fine inside though so it didn't bother me.

I stayed at the domitory room, the price was very reasonable. But I personally had that a unpleasant experience.. There was someone who kept asking me 'how long am I staying here', 'Are you(me) leaving tomorrow' and so on.. It felt more like interrogate,

My family stayed at this hotel for just one night and ended up with mosquitoes bites. My daughter's face become red and got dots. Her ear is swollen because of the mosquitoes bites. Me and my husband's leg also affected. The mosquitoes are very big and poisonous. We are scare and worry whether our daughter's face will have scars or not. Please think twice if you would like to book and stay at this hotel. It is totally NOT recommended. Note: I tried to attached photos of the mosquitoes bite but dont have upload button. If you see the photos, you will be shock.

Good price and clean hotel!♥
It was reasonable price and the room was clean and comfortable! Caution! But there was no lockers to contain big suitcase and backpack! Shower room was clean and there is hairdryer :) there were no cockcroaches and ants during two night stays. You can borrow the towel at 10 TWD in hotel. Also, I think this hotel is located in safe city and street. There is small night market near hotel by walk.

Enjoyed my stay!
Overall, we had a good experience staying! The location of the hotel was in the centre of yizhong night market, so there were plenty of shopping and food options around the hotel. Hotel staff were friendly too to reccommend us how to get to places and where to eat around the area. We got a free upgrade of room when our room was said to be undergoing some restoration works on the day we checked in. So we had a really pleasant stay!

Cheap, well-located but just missing too much
To be fair this place is cheap (~AUD $75/night) but it seems they've been a bit too mean with things that don't cost much but make for much enhanced travel. There is nowhere to store toiletries i.e. a basin; only one option to hang a towel so bath mat, hand towel, shower cap etc. go where? This is a humid, warm city even in winter - aircon is pretty much a necessity but mine continually spat water and placed directly above the bed that's not pleasant... I'd have been delighted with the room decor if I were a 7-year-old boy, a bit much for adult accommodation. Nowhere to hang clothes. Surprised to see my emergency escape option was abseiling out the window... Very surprised the "hotel" don't have proper maps on hand, only a few photo copies of certain areas i.e. can't provide Taichung maps but do have a several-block radius of the area. I know google maps are easy but with international travellers not having internet access on phones this is really surprising. Fine for a very basic but clean stay with good security.

Room not as advertised. Will never go there again!
Advertised as having wired internet connection but actually has none. I also paid extra for faster WiFi, but it only has a public WiFi available. The one that requires login on my floor can be connected, but supplies no internet! Therefore it is completely not secure (for those who don't know, wireless connections can easily be faked by hackers in the vicinity; if you log into their network, all your passwords will be stolen, no matter how good the encryption).

Overall the hotel is nice for its price and location. Staff is nice, only when leaving, I asked for a taxi, the front desk just sat there while the taxi was outside. I waited for 15-20 minutes and had to ask him if that was my taxi, which he confirmed yes. Funny how he didn't let me know right away. Talking to the taxi guy, he said typically the station notifies the front desk right away. The room was small but good. Only complaint is occasional smoke smell coming from somewhere within the hotel. It was not from outside and I couldn't find the source. Walls are thin and one night there was a group in the next room making a lot of noise.

A lovely surprise!
My family love the simple but trendy decor in the hotel. The rooms were very clean and funky. My teenage boys love the yuppie feel. The service staff were very friendly and approachable and made us feel very welcomed. The hotel is surrounded by cafes and cute shops with korean aura. The common area is cosy with a piano and a little pantry. Feels like home. Oh yes, the service staff speaks English well! (A pleasant surprise for a hotel for this price range) It is just a little walk away to a night market street. Not like the typical fengjia market. More like shops with some street food. More organised.

The 2 double beds room is spacious, beds placed side by side (great for families with baby/toddlers). There is a little gap in between the two beds though. The location is excellent, very close to Yizhong Street and a 7/11 convenience store. There is a live band performance near the hotel area.

Wonderful stay at the box design hotel
The staffs are all friendly and helpful. Provided a map with food and shopping recommendations. Very convenient location and clean rooms. Would definitely stay here again.

very small room
Very small room. there are only 12 inches between the two single beds. You must be fit to get through. no breakfast. Hotel is on a small lane the taxi driver refused to get in, just dropped me off on the main street. The surrounding neighbourhood is quite old. Night market is 5 mins away.

Great Value, Great Location
When I read the reviews about this hotel, I was a bit skeptical about having such glowing reviews and having the price that it does. After staying at the Taichung Box Design Hotels, it gets deserves all of the accolades that it receives and will be my new Taichung hotel. It is in the heart of the city with shopping and food all around and you cannot go wrong in staying here. If I had to compare it to a well known hotel, the rooms reminded me of the Aloft hotel, just updated for more of the room size expected in Asia.

super service and reception
Spent three nights there. Very clean and cozy rooms with style. Owner is a designer and hotel just opened a few months. Room is small but since we were so tired after walking around we just lie on bed and room size doesnt matter. big Toilet compared to room. only 4 rooms per floor so very quiet. Door card for lift so makes me feel safe. bus stops, department store and night market are within 5 mins walk. the night market is highly recommended I think it is better than fengxai. 7-11 is just next door. staff are all 20s and showed great enthusiastism about their work. They helped me to sort out my transportation to Cingjing. the car company messed around so I was sorry to give them troubles but yet they still were nice and keen. when I came back after midnight they really looked up to see who was coming to confirm i was a hotel guest (yes they recognised me). This is a small hotel but they give you super service and reception.
