Some receptionists are really finding their way to help you out, some are not as friendly as the others. Except for the strong cigarette smell by the hallway & in the room, the experience was 8 out of 10 as our 3 nights stay was comfortable enough. They have big double bed by the way and they gave us a discount on the extra head per night. Customer service is good at this hotel :)

Not one for comfort
The hotel is very dated. The hotel has a damp/mould smell in the landings that carry into the rooms. The drains in the bathroom seeps drainage smells strong enough to wake you in the morning. The website makes the rooms look bigger than they are. The only bonus is the staff are friendly and it’s clean enough to tolerate the bad points. If you’re looking for comfort this is not a good choice.

This hotel looks new and location is great. Has parking lot for cars. However, the cleaner aunty is rude and Sometimes receptionist has bad attitude. But what’s intolerable is.... all 4 of us got bitten badly by bedbugs which clearly shows that the bed linen has not been properly washed & handled.

Firstly, the hotel isn't as big as the photo shows as well as the room layout is badly designed. Secondly, the room condition was bad and with some foul smell even when you're at the lobby or lift. The building stated smoke-free. However, almost everywhere has a heavy cigarette smell. Thirdly, the condition inside the rooms are so bad with ceilings peeling off and mold everywhere. Overall the services provided by the staffs are good and they provide a map to navigate around the vicinity as well as going to Ximen station.

Overall, a good stay. The location is very convenient and there are a lot of eateries around. Walking distance to a couple of places of interest. Room facilities are basic and outdated but is clean. Wifi connection is good. There are A LOT of tv channels and always showing good shows. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful.

I enjoyed staying at your hotel, with comfortable room, friendly & helpful staff, safe & good location. Also I have 2 suggestions: 1) to put a Personal Computer (PC) for your guests at the Lobby area. Somehow I missed checking my emails and online news; 2) to review & maintain properly the equipment at the Gym-12th floor. The exercise cycle was OK but not the two treadmill machines (i.e. one was not working at all and the other one was stopping after 5 minutes using a high speed). Cheers, Nelson.

The room and floor has strong cigarette smell, even though there is sign for no smoking on the floor. We requested a change of room to a different floor and is still the same. Breakfast was ok with limited selection, the dinning hall has no elevator. Overall stay was ok.

Second time I stayed I was put on the construction floor, so a bit noisy but not during sleeping time. They did not have an airport shuttle like was advertised.

We paid for a non smoking room and got a room smelling bad that my visitor almost vomitted. The pictures just show the good parts of the hotel. The elevator is small. You need to walk up a flight stairs to go to the dining area which makes it extremely inconvenient for senior citizens.

Decent hotel near Ximending
The location of the hotel is really good near one of the main shopping districts of Taipei, Ximending. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and tried to do their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. There's free valet parking at the hotel, which was extremely useful for those who wish to rent a car and drive outside of Taipei.

Great staff/room/bed/location, subpar brkfst/sound
The hotel staff were so friendly and spoke both English and Japanese, so we didn't have any communication problems. We booked the SAUNA room, and though earlier reviews said the sauna didn't really get hot, we found that it just took a bit of time to heat up and having the door completely closed and the air vent closed was probably the problem. The sauna was absolutely amazing. Both of us sat comfortably in it and chatted for a long time, sweating our butts off. So staff and room and price were all amazing advantages. The downsides: first off, the walls were a bit thin-- we could hear the people above or beside us when they sneezed and the shuffling of feet when people walked in the hallways. Breakfast was a bit subpar. There were eggs and ham, some bread rolls, and porridge, but that was it. Only orange juice, grape juice, and coffee. Would have loved some ice water, maybe some cereal, and some hardier food. But the price was definitely reasonable. The location was also AWESOME! Only 10 minutes to the Huaxi snake market, 10 minutes walk to the nearest station for MRT, 5 minutes walk to big shopping area (XiMenDing?), close bus stop, lots of restaurants/food stalls/ convenience stores. Finally, the bed was SO comfortable. A lot of Asian hotels have really hard beds, but ours was so perfect, and the blackout drapes really kept the sun out, so we passed out. 100% would recommend, as long as you can ignore the sounds and aren't prissy about a no-frills breakfast.

Great staff. Clean and spacious room. The ONLY thing that lets this hotel down is the appalling quality of the breakfast buffet. Much of the hot food was actually cold and greasy. Poor selection. It was better to eat elsewhere as there are loads of good cafes/restaurants close by.

Terrible stay with construction noise
There was annoying construction noise from 9am, if you want to be wakened up by annoying noise every day including Sundays, you can stay here. The room was so disappointing, with mould on the wall, but that was not near the bedside, so we just ignored it, disgusting though. The bed and the pillow were too soft for me, the most shocking thing was, you cannot adjust the temperature of the air conditioner, there is only an adjustable knob without specific temperature indicated, that's just so ghetto. A terrible stay in conclusion, luckily we only stayed for two nights, otherwise I would even have changed another hotel and wasted my reservation fee.

Doesn't look as nice as it does in the photos. Was a bit disappointing. Then after dinner I was told that the air-conditioning would be off between midnight and 5am for maintenance - no apology. Just very matter-of-fact. Seriously? I've never experienced that before and to get no apology is unacceptable. You stay at a hotel to have a comfortable stay! Do air-con maintenance during the day! Ugly room, air-con and unfriendly staff aside, the breakfast was delicious.

Pleasant hotel in interesting part of Taipei
In the beginning the staff provided me a room at the end of the corridor and located in the 3rd floor. It was a small room and not bright enough with a small window which you can see the residents living next building. I did feel disappoint and request to change a larger room in the upper floor. Luckily, the front desk staffs did concern my feeling and gave me an opportunity to stay in Room 502 which is a larger room and not that dark as the previous one. To be honest, this hotel is a bit old but overall is accepted. The location is nice. You can spend about a ten minute walk from Ximen or Longshan stations and there is a night market near to Longshan Temple.

Older hotel but clean and all basics covered
The hotel is in Ximen area, but actually a little far from the Ximending pedestrian shopping area as well as the train station. abt 15min walk. The surroundings are thus quieter, with most shops closed at night. The hotel itself was much older than we expected, with a dated décor and faded furnishings. The room size was good for a family of 4, with 2 double beds plus a settee area. Even though the room felt a little musty and old fashioned, it was clean and all the necessary toiletries and amenities for the whole family were provided. The concierge staff were also friendly and helpful, which surprised us as we had initial doubts when we first walked into the lobby. The buffet breakfast that came with the room rate was nothing to shout about and can be missed for better local food outside. One great thing about this hotel is the laundry with dryer room provided free for guests, this let us cut down our luggage by about half since we could wash and dry our clothes from the previous part of the trip. However we will not consider staying here again, mainly due to the distance from Ximending as well as the older state of the hotel.

The hotel was clean (prompt room service). Rated a 4 for facilities as it was a little old (glass door hinges made the door felt unsafe and the gym wasnt satisfactory). Rated a 4 for room comfort as well because it isnt some luxurious 5* where you get your branded beds with high thread count bedding, it is good enough for a good rest/sleep. Hotel was within a good walking distance to XMD with a few good cafes and food places on the way.

Traumatic Experience
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Was quite impressed with the room size initially for a 3 bedder. However, during my first day of stay, the glass toilet door shattered on me. Suffered several cuts on my hand; bleeding of course. Fortunately, I am clothed during the incident and do not require to be hospitalised. Cannot imagine if the glass shatter on a kid. I am rather tall and so the glass did not fell on my head. Managed the rinse off all the shattered glass off me and the hotel staff offered few some plaster from the first aid kit. Apparently, the hinges were not installed properly. I have doubts with their safety standards. Was quite paranoid with their glass doors for the rest of the stay despite being offered another room. Developed a phobia of glass doors which lasted quite a few days. The compensation was really insulting. The supervisor offered an initial refund amount of around NT1,000. This is not even worth a night stay. The final settlement amount was a waiver of 1 night stay. I will never ever stay in this hotel again. 7 days have passed and the shattering still lingers in my mind.

Was a bit unsure about this hotel when I first booked it. Photos online shows like it was quite dirty and drab. However upon reaching hotel, lobby looked very pleasant and classy. I booked the VIP room which was very big and spacious. Had a living room with 2 sofas. Bed, sheets and towel was clean. Toilet was pleasant. Only complaint is the strong smell of smoke even though it was a non-smoking level. Extremely strong. It's quite a distance from XMD station. About 15 min leisure walk, 10 min fast walk. Staff are nice and helpful.

the good and bad.
the good: the decor/lighting design in the room, the cleanliness of the room and the toilet, the comfort level, the staff's service. the hotel has a big sign at its facade so it's easy to locate while in a cab. the bad: the location may not be that far from the Xi Men MRT station, but consider that there are many other excellent lower price range hotels nearer to the MRT station. the room's wifi works fine for my iphone but my roommate can only get the wifi network on his phone in certain parts of the room.

Good hotel, dodgy location
Hotel is very nice, room clean and comfy. Sofa in corner of room slightly musky smell. Bathroom above expectations: clean and modern. Slight smell of tobacco on the corridor, but not present in the room (non smoking). Overall very satisfied with the room. Service very good, they installed a wireless hotspot in our room when we could not connect to the hotspot in the corridor. Breakfast buffet with good selection of asian cuisine, bread, rolls, spreads. Cereal selection small, but who cares when you can have noodles, rice porridge, vegetables and dumplings for breakfast? Location very dodgy, surrounding neighbourhood is quite poor, opposite hotel is a building that most of all looks like a ruin. But only 10 minutes walk to Ximen station, which is on the very useful blue MRT line, and if you don't even want to walk that, then reception can call you a taxi that will arrive in 5 minutes. Overall, this is an excellent hotel with good service, that just happens to be in a bad location.

Cleanliness: 1. The beddings and blankets appeared to be unwashed. Caused itchiness after sleeping. 2. Mosquitoes were found flying around at the hotel lobby. Facilities: 1. Breakfast: a. Not much variety. Similar food for the whole week. b. No replenishment, when food runs out. Service: 1. Majority of the hotel and restaurant staff were unfriendly except for Vanessa, who was friendly and helpful. 2. On the first night, we were told to pay TWD100 per night, on top of what was agreed prior to checking in. 3. Hotel staff refuse to help us to confirm airport transfer for the last day of stay, when they realise we have already bought 2-way airport transfer bus tickets. Location: 1. Hotel is quite far from the nearest MRT station (Ximen Station). 2. There is public bus from Ferrary Hotel to Ximen MRT Station however there is no bus service back to hotel from Ximen MRT Station. Pricing: The room was rather small and not worth the price that we paid for.

Having stayed here only one night,
Having stayed here only one night, I like it here for the 3 stars hotel, better than i thought...clean and staff is friendly. The only down side is it's quite far from the Ximending area, when got off train at Ximen station, we need to walk a little more than 15 mins to get to the hotel and that's not very convenient when we come from airport with big luggages. So i'm not a big fan with location but anything else are fine.

Our Singaporean family of 4 stayed
Our Singaporean family of 4 stayed at two rooms of twin beds for 3 nights upon arrival to Taipei and also on the last night prior to departure after our DIY around the Taiwan island trip. Hotel location is convenient - about 10 min walk to nearby Ximen MRT station and HuaXi Street night-market. Receptionist service is polite and warm, with a fair understanding of English. Despite the room space is a bit small, the bathroom is well equipped and clean. Air-conditioning is working well and the room is quiet with double glazed windows. There is wireless easy access to Internet and 24-hours TV programs of 100 channels. Laundry and Drying facility is available free of charge at top floor. Breakfast included but quality and variety can be improved. Overall, it is a value for money hotel for vacation stay.

We got the deluxe (VIP) room but
We got the deluxe (VIP) room but still there is a bad smell as if someone was smoking in the room besides, but it is all non-smoking though. The room is clean and the bed very comfortable. We were in 9th floor and it was not noisy at all. The breakfast and staff are OK and it is very near to Ximen MRT station, only 10min walking.

The single room I stayed had dam smell, but when my second visit and stayed at a Delux room, the room was much better and no odd smell. A bit noise and breakfast is too simple. One morning when I went for breakfast after 9am, there are only few plate with food.
