Hilton Chicago
6/10 Okay
"They were kind of rude about us wanting to carry our own luggage. Our “lake view” room we wanted was not lake view. It faced the other building and you could barely see the lake. Having a kid who wanted to swim, they had us on the 25th floor. And came to clean our room, they took all of our towels and gave us one new one for 3 ppl. We had to go find someone to get more towels. And we had to ask twice for more coffee cups. The lady in the gift shop was awesome! Probably the nicest person we ran into there! Parking is crazy expensive too. The grab and go place is insanely expensive for a quick grab place. No sauce or anything on the dry sandwiches."

"One of my favorite places to stay"

Travelodge by Wyndham Downtown Chicago
8/10 Good
"Older hotel that needs some renovation, but the rooms were thoroughly cleaned each day, fresh towels, and linen, and a friendly staff. The rooms were large and roomy, and the bathrooms were spotless! The water pressure was very good and it had very hot hot water that did not run out, just the way I like it!"

L7 Chicago by LOTTE
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel is very good in general (clean, friendly and professional staff, quiet etc.). However, the location is unbeatable. Literary, it is a couple mins from river, right on the edge of loop and north downtown area, about 10-15 min walking distance from museums, 30 min walking distance from Navy Pier, and very close to many many restaurants. Our room was also pretty quiet, so there is no problem of sleeping at night. I strongly recommended just because of the location, but the rest of qualities are also very very good. Strongly recommended!"

Congress Plaza Hotel
6/10 Okay
"First, this is a historic hotel, and visitors should be aware that the rooms reflect the historic vibe. If you want modern, you need to stay down the street at the Hilton. The rooms were very cute and clean, and the tiling in the bathroom was beautiful. The hotel has a prime location with easy walking access to the Grant Park and Museum Campus areas. General maintenance could have been improved: 1) the room had obviously lost power at some point in the past, causing the mini fridge to thaw, leak, and damage the shelf on which it sat, and 2) the faucet in the bathtub dripped consistently and the shower drain was minorly clogged, preventing it from draining completely while the shower water was running. These were, however, very minor issues. My biggest issue was the noise. It's a historic building, but that doesn't mean it needs historic windows. The windows might as well have not existed for as much street noise as they managed to block out. I was grateful I traveled with earplugs, because if I hadn't, I would not have been able to sleep. Between sirens, engines reving, and people randomly screaming, if you're someone that needs quiet to sleep, this is not the place for you. It would also be nice to have modernized room AC units. Be aware that the units here cannot be adjusted in the room. All in all, a decent stay... But I doubt I'll be back unless they make a big announcement about new windows."

Arlo Chicago
10/10 Excellent
"My husband and I stayed at the Arlo for 2 nights. The property was fresh and modern. The first thing I noticed was the aroma of the lobby right as we walked in the doors from the street. Check in was easy, and we paid the offered $25 for early check in around 10:30 am, which we believed was so worth it. Our room was a bit on the smaller side and the view from our room was the city, with a corner of it being Millennium Park. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Arlo. It was perfect for our needs. It was conveniently located just minutes walking to the Park and the river walk."

The Royal Sonesta Chicago Downtown
10/10 Excellent
"Perfect proximity to the Riverwalk and downtown Chicago. We left our bags with the front desk on the morning of check-in, as we got there around 11 am. No more than 30 minutes later, the lovely receptionist called me and offered a discounted early check-in with an upgraded room. We pounced on the offer and checked in without a hitch. Our room was spectacular, lots of room and wonderful amenities. The bathroom was spacious and modern. Our view out of our long window was right out to the river and skyscrapers. It was a definite wow factor for us. Thank you so much for the comfortable and unforgettable stay."
