Excellent for the price we pay. Room size is eco friendly. We were given fresh towel every day. Walkable from all the train stations in Ueno. not we like: bath tub not too friendly for geriatrics with hip joint problem. Portable water heater might scald your guest. English newspaper will be helpful as well as map of Ueno.

This hotel is easy walk to Ueno Station and Ueno Park. Receiption staff was friendly and helpful, however, breakfast lady needed some improvement on service.

Check-in was very quick and efficient. Employee was able to communicate with me even with my limited Japanese and his limited English. The room was small but nicely furnished. *only issue was the ac was set to heater and I had to keep the window open to keep the room cool.

The hotel is in a convenient location. I stayed there for the late cherry blossoms this year and the location was only a few minutes walk to Ueno Park. At the heart of the 2024 Cherry Blossom Festival.

extremely dusty
dust was on every flat surface, we started sneezing uncontrollably in the room. toilet was small even by Japan standards. limited space to put 2 luggage. luggage were apparently meant to be stored under the bed but there was a thick layer of dust there, no way we were keeping our stuff there. checked out as early as possible.

I enjoyed my stay at APA Ueno! Property was new, clean, and close to public transportation as well as many food options around! The only unfortunate thing was laundry service was relatively expensive.

I like that the hotel had its own restaurant, microwave, ice and vending machines,wifi and screen mirroring to watch videos from my smartphone the up keep of the room was on point.

Not good for disabled guests
Do not stay at this hotel if you have any disablity. We booked for three nights and they have no rooms for disabled travelers. I was unable to have a bath or shower for the three days as it is impossible to use the bathroom. The rooms are very small but the beds are comfortable. The breakfast is adequate but the dining area again very small and you sit on paint cans if you can.

The rooms is ideal for a solo buisness traveler, or someone passing through Tokyo on their way elsewhere. The room has lots of electrical outlets along with many other thoughtful elements. Everything has very detailed instructions for access or use, in multiple languages, including English. The shower also had a 1/2 bath option in the Japanese style of a deeper bath. The day market area outside of Ueno station has lots and lots of food options. Yet it shuts down relatively early, making the area around the hotel relatively quiet later at night, despite the hustle and bustle during the day. The hotel's all you can eat breakfast is a good value for Tokyo, and is run by a meat focused resteraunt.

In addition, the bathtub uses an egg-shaped bathtub that uses about 20% less water than a normal bathtub, making it environmentally friendly. When you come to the Ueno area, please use our hotel again.

Great stay again at APA
I had a great 1 night stay at this APA hotel in Ueno. You know exactly what you're getting with this brand. It's nice to know there are no surprises. The check in and out is smooth. The room is clean. It might be small to non Japanese, but it's manageable for one person. Overall I had a good stay and would recommend it! I often book with APA when visiting Japan.

Fabulous area for dining and site-seeing. Easy access to two or 3 Metro stations including Ueno JR, Shinkansen and Keisei Narita airport train. Worst breakfast buffet I’ve encountered out of many APA Hotels: limited selection and cramped room.
