"Nice hotel - we were there during a busy holiday so price was no doubt a bit higher but good location, walkable to many areas and the river. Staff was really nice. Room was clean. Only slight downsides were the sandals in the room were clearly used but they provided daily paper slippers. Also, bathroom design is a bit funny where you walk through the shower area to get to the toilet and sink. Thus, after a shower, you have to walk through a wet floor and also the sink/toilet area gets wet. But, minor issues. Breakfast had good variety and was tasty. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a cheaper place but not too budget."

"A great hotel in a great location. One pro tip that will vastly improve your stay in Varanasi: utilize their travel agency, Trip Choice Travel, run by Miss Varsha. Varsha is an amazing woman that goes far beyond just a travel guide. For example, if I tried to get a tuk tuk to go 2 km, it should cost at maximum 100 INR. When I tried to reserve one, it was impossible to get them to go below 200 INR. With Miss Varsha negotiating for you, you can get one for 50 INR or less. She helps you avoid the scammers, instructs you on temple protocol, and just does all the little things to make your visit so much more enjoyable. I am hoping and praying that I can find a Miss Varsha at every stop of my 45 day tour of India, but it is extremely rare to find a person of such great character and heart."

"We stayed at Narayan Kothi, Varanasi for 2 nights and overall had a comfortable and pleasant stay. The rooms and hospitality were good, and we enjoyed our time at the property. However, there are some areas that need serious improvement, especially food quality and service follow-up. I ordered Dahi Kebab during the stay, after which I suffered food poisoning. The hotel should urgently review its kitchen hygiene and food quality standards. I had also ordered plain moong dal for my 7-month-old daughter, but it was prepared with rice mixed in it. When I took the food back to the restaurant and raised the concern, the staff denied that anything had been mixed. This was disappointing, especially because baby food needs extra care and clear communication. On another night, the team forgot to send the moong dal order altogether, and it finally arrived after around 1 hour 30 minutes. This kind of delay is difficult to manage when travelling with an infant. Also, the hotel team clicked our welcome pictures on arrival, but when we later asked for them, we were told they had been lost. This was disappointing, as guests expect such memories to be handled carefully. Overall, the stay was comfortable, but the hotel really needs to improve food safety, baby food handling, communication, and service reliability."
