Hotels near Umenomiya Shrine

"This hotel is huge, and a nightmare because of all the tourist groups and their million suitcases that crowd the lobby. There are warning about "congestion at breakfast", so i had my coffee somewhere else .. The location was not very convenient, it's only good if your train arrives on that side of the station. Otherwise it is a long long walk just to get to any bus or subway. The staff was incredibly helpful and did the best they could given the horrifying tour groups crowd. Rooms are small but ok. No public baths. It is a 3 star hotel, not 4"

"We loved everything about this beautiful hotel including: excellent location steps away from train station, Lawson market next door, big rooms for Japanese standard, impeccable cleanliness of our room and the hotel in general, separate shower/bathtub area from the toilet which is convenient for us since we were 3 in the room, super comfortable beds with down comforter, and oh my gosh the BREAKFAST was incredible and so varied - western and Asian choices galore including many traditional foods and also some to be adventurous with. I would stay here again in a heartbeat"

"This ryokan is even better than the photos and reviews. It is across the street from the train, so very convenient. All staff wete helpful. There is a casual yukata provided or you can chose a slightly nicer one, also complimentary. Slippers are provided. The onsen are easy to use, with mininal wait times. We absolutely loved it. "
