Hotels near Upper Schuylkill Valley Park

"I live in Philly and planned on staying here for one night after attending a wedding nearby in Bala Cynwyd. The property is outdated and garishly designed. You can tell they've attempted to upgrade over the years by just adding a hodgepodge of wall and ceiling accents/lights, and a dozen different paint colors. The maids were using old shopping carts to carry linens and cleaning equipment. There were two types of old linoleum flooring in the room that my sneakers were sticking to as soon as I walked in. The lights were bright white and one of them buzzed loudly which was off-putting and I turned it off right away. There was an overwhelming smell of a cheap air freshener that gave me a headache. I got back to the hotel at 12:30am and immediately grabbed my overnight bag and turned in my key at the front desk as I was not comfortable staying the night at all. The front desk attendant didn't even bother pausing his personal phone call or ask why I was leaving in the middle of the night. Wasted $161 on a hotel room that I didn't even sleep in because it was so uncomfortable, and is absolutely not worth the price they're charging. Plus, I had to pay for a Lyft in the middle of the night to drive me the 30 mins home. Overall, waste of time and money and would never recommend staying here to anyone."

"Rooms are well dated. Bathroom showing mold and wear above shower Rm 514. Carpet needs repair. Desk chair dirty and dresser dirty. Behind bed and dresser dirty and not kept."

"My room was clean. I was there because of a dance competition so the hotel was very busy. Sadly, the dance studio is there did not clean up after themselves, but the staff did not clean it up either. The food service in the bar was absolutely horrible. I got raw chicken one night and shells in my eggs the next day. I stayed there because I have to not because I wanted to."

"This was a fantastic option at a great price point for our visit to UPenn. It is close to campus, safe, and very spacious and comfy for a family of 4. Nice apartment-style stay during a college visit. Bathrooms, bedrooms, and kitchen were great. Check-in was okay, but person working the front desk was a bit curt and aloof— did bare minimum to help us or make us feel welcome. Oh well. Area seemed typical of University City in Philly— a little ghetto, a little gentrified, nothing unsafe. We were fine with loading/unloading in front of building and found street parking a block from the suites. I’d recommend for visits to this part of Philly! "

"I would not recommend staying at The Golfers Inn. Our experience on 5/07/26 was very disappointing. The staff was rude and unprofessional, and the rooms were extremely dirty. We found hair and dirt in the bed, which made it obvious the sheets had not been properly changed. We asked for another room, but the second room was dirty as well. Room 228 had a broken bathroom door, and cigarette smoke was coming through the vents the entire time. The overall condition of the property felt unsanitary and poorly maintained. This place seriously needs better management, proper cleaning, and major improvements before guests should consider staying here. Be warned."
