"Dinner at The Gate was not worth the price we paid. Staff forgot appetizers and delivered after the meal. "

"Really glad that we had the opportunity for an early check in. Staff were very great and helpful. Upon entering the room, at first glance it looked good but upon deeper inspection, the carpet had many stains. The bottom of the shower did not look clean either and ran out of hand soap by the end of our stay. Walls were scuffed and appeared dirty. Shower head would not stay in position and kept turning to the side of the shower. Really disappointing especially since this was not a cheap hotel. Lastly, having to take 2 elevators to reach our room is inconvenient."

"Pros: clean, most amenities, helpful staff Cons: Distance to Amsterdam central (2 trams), long walk to tram station, variable room rates ’different from advertised/booked price ($70 up to $140 - each day a different (higher) price not inc. 21% tax! Can’t keep window open due to McDonals (next building) parking lot is meeting place for youth to rev/race their cars each night!"

"Centrally located from Central Station, by Dam Square and the palace. Ride the subway to Rokin exit rather than drag suitcases a mile from central station. Staff was wonderful and very welcoming. Breakfast was same everyday, but very good. We walked our feet off but the hotel is located near pubs and great restaurants. Highly recommended 😎"
