This is by far the worst hotel for customer service. The girl named Janelle that checked us in was an absolute b!tch. She was unbelievably rude and condescending. I will bad mouth this hotel on every platform I can find. They cancelled my reservation for no reason and blamed it on Expedia. The manager did absolutely nothing to make the situation right and up charged us $70. We had to stay because I had booked 3 rooms total and could not leave my friends. Truly one of the worst experiences I have had to deal with. We have traveled the world and never experienced anything like this before. We will go back to staying at the Gray Wild Lodge which is lovely. The rooms were ok. Nothing great to be honest. The beds we’re comfortable and the bathroom counter top was nice. No bathroom in the lobby which was desperately needed after spending 45 minutes trying to get into our room.

We found this property on the same day as we were traveling home from a long 3 Natl Park road trip. The property is in a BEAUTIFULLY restored historic western town. The checkin/checkout process at the main hotel in town ( think restored western cowboy main st ) was super simple & the lady who checked us in was wonderfully pleasant & super helpful. The cabins are grouped together a short drive away & we were so pleased with the cabin we had. VERY clean, Cozy, Quite & we felt very Safe there. We would HIGHLY recommend this property !

Surprising
Authentic outside and very nice inside. Resturant was excellent. This location is Nevada city not Virginia city. Check-in was in Virginia City at the fair weather hotel.

I was surprisingly pleased with the unit. The beds were comfortable and a very homey atmosphere. Loved the furnishings. At first concerned about no TV but, I settled and slept amazingly well with out my back ground noise.

Quaint hotel. Small original style rooms. Overpriced but nicely located on Main Street. No ice machine but clerk offered us a few cups of ice from a bag in staff fridge.

This was the second time we stayed at the cabins, and both experiences were excellent. Although on the smaller size, the cabin is smaller...but clean and cozy. The staff was very nice and welcoming. It is very convenient to be able to park in front of your cabin. We would definitely stay here again!

Rustic cabin split into two rental rooms, could hear our neighbors through the connecting door. Bathroom had been remodeled nicely. Part of an historic gold mining era landmark property - no services.

The management was so friendly. They made dinner reservations for us and helped us in every way. The cabins are very clean. New bathrooms. Wish we could have stayed longer. We’d come back in a heartbeat!

Very clean accommodations, had wi-fi but no TV. Would be nice to utilize streaming services on a TV instead of my laptop. Bathroom was tight. Had to sit at an angle on the toilet because of the wall that was only about 14 inches from the front of the toilet. The door to the room was from the 1800’s and I could see daylight along all four edges of the door and in various spots throughout the door. Could not find a key drop off box when checking out at 0800 with no one around the lobby. Had to leave key on top of a computer keyboard at the desk, in the hope that they would find it. Would probably not stay there again, but one night would not be too bad.

Great cabin
Great cabin, nice beds, & roomy. Was clean although there were a few dead flies around. The ambience is terrific. We we were early season visitors and the cabin likely hadn't been rented much yet. The review has Eco-friendly question. The cabin has a sod roof, that sounds pretty eco-friendly to me. I enjoyed our stay in Nevada City/Virginia City more than I expected. Might have been the first time ever that I felt I received fair value for a relatively expensive room. No ghost appearances though, which was disappointing.

Although this cabin was on the smaller size, it was very clean, comfortable, and cozy. The air conditioning and WI FI was nice to have. We did have a issue with the hot water, but maintenance did respond quickly to fix it. It is a very simple cabin with the basics, but no TV, microwave or coffee pot, because of this, I feel like the price is a little high. It was nice to be able to park in front of our cabin. It was also inconvenient after arriving to the cabins we learned that we had to go to another property to get our key, as well as returning them. The staff on site was very nice. The area was beautiful. Overall, we would stay here again.

Okay if you know what your in for.
Not so good. Nothing was open in this town. Front desk failed to mention our room was in the next town. It took us 20 min to realize Nevada city was actually a ghost town 5 min down the road. Nothing to do no restaurants, no a/c, no t.v. Which was not mentioned in hotel description.

I absolutely love it here we come every year. I just feel the price is just a little too high. Maybe if they threw in free tickets to the historical village next door it would make me feel better about spending over 200 for the little cabin. Just a thought! Thank you to the staff for special accommodations! You guys are great!!

The staff was wonderful at this property. There is no Air Conditioning in the Cabins, but the nights are so cool that you really don't need it. There is one cabin that is connected to another which is great if you are renting both cabins, but the wall between them is thin that you can hear everything that is going on in the next cabin. So request a solo cabin. The Star Restaurant, which located right on the property, was terrific and they often have live music until 8 pm. I will go back again next year!

Clean fun cabin to go with the theme of the town.
A nice updated cabin to stay that fit in with the ambiance of the historical area. It looks quite rustic, and is updated rustic inside. Very clean, bright, updated bathroom fixtures, nice shower, comfortable bed, and pet friendly. Pretty basic, which is okay to be without TV, microwave or fridge. Our Cabin was on the street, but there weren't too much traffic and didn't get noisy. Other cabins were behind us and off the street. Parking in front of door. Even though it was August, it got cold at night and we were happy the heater worked nicely. The check in and out office was in VA City, and it was fun talking to the lady who was at the desk. Nice stay.

Quiet and peaceful
We enjoyed a night of unplugged rest. It was nice to not have tv for a night. The cabin was a No Frills room but clean and comfortable. It was very warm when we were there, and although the cabin stayed fairly cool, a screen door would be a nice addition so that you could enjoy a breeze without the mosquitos. The area was beautiful however, i was disappointed that restaurants/shops/saloon were not open and even to checkin we needed to go to Virginia City. The staff there tho were very pleasant and kind. We were there on a thursday in the summer season so i thought there would be more happening. Overall a quiet restful night was enjoyable

They had a few issues when we checked in wrong key for the room and no hot water. Thet gave us a different room which ended up being a very nice room we enjoyed our stay after the small inconvenience.
