"We got a "cottage" (really a small room connected to others), which included a small kitchen area with fridge, microwave and some utensils & plates. A little tight, but good AC, TV & bed; office area with Hawiian history displays and good free coffee in the morning; nicely tended grounds; good location for walking around Lahue; about a mile to beach, airport or Walmart. Friendly, helpful folks."

"The property was beautiful and friendly staff also quickly respond to my request. The only issue I entered my room for the first time and was out of there in 20 minutes there was a foul smell, they sent up a maintenance and he immediately smelled it to. They moved me to another but accessible room and it didn’t have a double lock on the door. So I asked to move to another room. I got to my third room and there was an issue with their shade door, maintenance came up to fixed it but took home 30 minutes to fix so he did his best and the next day they came to fixed it properly. Also door to balcony was not easy to lock. Overall some of their rooms needs to upgrade or maintain their balcony doors and shade. The rooms were clean. The a/c is very loud. I didn’t like that luau was behind my balcony you get a first glance of the show and hearing the sound is not a great experience. They need to keep the pool warm."

"We loved our stay at Plantation Hale! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious with everything we needed. The property is dated but that added to the charm for us. The only note I have is an extra trash bag or two would have been nice. Our Kitchen trash filled up and after we took it out we had no extra bag to line the can with. Having the kitchen was great!"

"The Royal Sonesta Kaua'i has a beautiful property with a great pool and well-maintained grounds. The location is convenient, and the overall setting is relaxing. Unfortunately, the service and attention to detail didn't match the price. Several of the in-room amenities were incomplete or empty, including the sewing kit and other convenience items, which made the room feel overlooked. The biggest disappointment was the pool service. The security around the pool came across as overly aggressive at times, which took away from what should have been a relaxing experience. For a resort at this price point, I expected more attentive and welcoming customer service. Overall, the hotel itself is attractive, but the quality of the amenities and customer service fell short of expectations. For what you pay, I expected a more polished experience with better attention to detail and a higher level of hospitality."
