"We visited the area to meet up with family. The price we paid on Expedia was great and not dissimilar to that for Premier Inn/Travelodge, which we would normally have used. I would say that the hotel previously was 4-star, but I wouldn't say it was 4-star today. The room was clean and staff welcoming. Parts of look like it needed attention. But there was some scaffolding up and the restaurant was closed for refurbishment, so they're possibly making some improvements.
Only one of the two lifts in reception were working, and they're very small.
The air conditioning in our room didn't seem to work, but thankfully the window did open. The toilet paper and tea/coffee were not replaced automatically considering we stayed for 3 nights.
TV was not smart (so unable to cast from mobile); only Freeview channels available.
Strangely, the room had a small table but no chairs....
In the mornings, the hot water was only slightly warm.
However, we did have a pleasant stay, and it's a very convenient location for the shops and eateries."
