Overall we did have a good experience. Here is a critique of everything overall. The property was pretty nice, and everything is well explained and thought out. Overall, it is a good value. The door knob/ locking mechanism is terrible and leaves you with an uneasy feeling that you will eventually be locked out of your place. We had to call about this, someone came out within two hours, and he left without fixing it and without talking to us about it (after we skipped going out to dinner to be there to make sure he fixed it right). Usually we had to try 5-6 times to get the door to open, and just as many times to ensure that it locked properly. The area is very noisy. It's not just city noise, i think it's because the floors and walls are thin. With that said, I'm not the first to complain because the give you ear plugs. On a sign, they say they also provide a white noise machine but that was no where to be found. There were ants in the kitchen and lots of ants in the bathroom. The beds are not comfortable, the sheets are hard, hot, and noisy, and the pillows are non existent after lying on them for more than a minute. Some of the dishes in the cabinets were quite dirty, the couch was terribly uncomfortable. It seems like they went as cheap as possible on the furniture and it shows. The area is pretty good, ubers are plentiful. Crime is apparently rather bad in the Navy Yard, and while we heard sirens we didn't see anything bad first hand. Next visit w

Room was well equipped and included coffee and shampoo, etc. plus extra supplies if needed was a nice touch. Big comfortable bed. Keyless access works great. Only reason not five star is that bags of laundry were left in corridor throughout stay and hot water ran cold sometimes. Otherwise, really good option and we’ll located for sight seeing plus plenty of restaurants and bars along Barracks Row and the redeveloped Navy Yard.

Really liked the size of the apartment and not dark. Location was ok near transport and food. Kitchen was nice, clean, modern. bathrooms were somewhat remodeled and caulking had black mold marks. Wireless connections were fine. What was bad was the carpets in the bedrooms really bad stained and ripping, needed replacement. Stained ceiling near kitchen. Water filter dispensers in hall was not operational and really dirty appearance. Noisy can hear dogs barking all day from doggy daycares nearby and can hear people from upstairs walking, etc. Overall average place.

Our stay was great! We loved the space the apt offered and the access we had to local restaurants and other activities. There is also free parking on the street which was a plus. The apt was clean and spacious. Some of the doors get jammed and aren’t able to close all the way or are hard to open but overall great safe neighborhood and we loved that we had access to water too ! Thanks so much for a memorable family stay.

I stayed here twice in the last two years. The first time was amazing. Great level and the place was clean. The second time (this last time) was disappointing. I was located in the basement and the immediate smell of cleaning products was overwhelming. The room itself smelled bad bc of it. Further, on one of the days, they left a big cart of dirty linens middle of the hallway making it difficult to go to my room. The cart was left all day too. I want to stay next year as I make this trip each year but I would definitely want to stay anywhere but the basement.

I was told the property is less than 1 mile from the White House. it ended to be a lot further, we had to walk almost an hour to get to the white house. The apartment was ok, rugs were in need of more attention.

Our particular unit's bathroom had a couple of issues. The shower head was so high that I had to be on tiptoes to adjust it and the child that was staying with me had no chance of reaching it. The sink faucet sits too far back and washing your hands was very inconvenient.

We loved the location. Out of the busy city, beautiful with trees and landscaping. We were able to find Lime scooters every day just on the corner for 6 people. The inside was pretty and neat, clean (except for the forgotten area under the primary bed - someone before us had a love of Honeybuns). Nice view and pretty patio/deck. The main issue we had was that although the listing and email stated that we were responsible for parking, it failed to say that street parking wasn’t allowed for more than a few hours, and the only other option was to take our car to a parking area (owned by a different company) a 15 min walk away, costing us an extra $250 for 3 nights parking.

Great escape in DC!
Great check-in process and very clean. The couch wasn't the most comfortable, but I did notice it was a pull-out bed, which is a nice option. Pretty decent parking options in the area and a nice neighborhood close to Navy Yard and capitol hill, if a little close to the highway/emergency vehicle route.

I paid for a 3:00 (hour early) check-in, and when I arrived the code for my room door didn't work. When I called your support line, I was left on hold for 10+ minutes. Finally a guy showed up and let me in c 3:25. By then I was flustered and late for my meeting. I think you should reimburse me for the early check-in.

Quiet, clean, safe building in good repair. (Used refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and washer/dryer.) Enjoyed our balcony from which we could see the capitol. Neighboring block has a community garden and small park. About 1/2 mile walk to 2 different metro stations and grocery stores. Bus stops within a block. Enjoyed low key (and good) restaurants on opposite side of block. Windows from living room and one bedroom look onto other wall with windows. Sofa bed not very comfortable (middle bar and a bit bent), but we made it work. Other two beds comfortable. Showers hot. I would stay there again.

Great location with easy access to bus lines and eating spots. Room was perfect size for me and two kids. Quieter than I expected for the neighborhood, but we could hear every step of our upstairs neighbor. Never had a bar of soap or body wash in the room, nor was it available from the stock-up cabinet in the common area. I asked three times for Sonder to stock it and they never did. Had a few issues with appliances our first day — dishwasher wouldn’t stop beeping and coffee maker didn’t work. Sonder customer service was sympathetic about the DW but had no idea how to help. I finally pushed enough buttons to get it to stop on my own. Coffee maker was replaced second day. Overall I like the place but it was my most troublesome Sonder stay. I recommend Sonder all the time and this made me second guess myself.

The property is fine for what it is, an affordable room in a walkable neighborhood with access to a lot of DCs attractions. There are issues though that make the stay frustrating. Our lamps had no light bulbs. There is a wheelchair lift but getting to it and into the door is an issue. There is no live person to help on the property, our guest service call went to Massachusetts, though they did resolve our problem. The “safe” luggage storage is a plastic shelving unit in an unattended hallway. Overall this is fine but not great.

Location was nice. Lots of food choices within walking distance. Also close to beautiful water walkway. Parking was a bit of a mystery. I took the risk and parked on the street right in front of the building, for free. It was a bit of a risk but thankfully I didn't get a ticket.

One of the beds in the room was broken. After contacting customer support the next day they delivered a blow up bed to the wrong unit. They were unable to retrieve it in time for that night. After they stated they would reach out to us about a refund, they have not done so.

It was easy to use, I was never confused about something because clear instructions were given. The room was beautiful and spacious and had all you needed! It had a nice view too. Located near the marine barracks made me feel somewhat safer and there were so many good spots to explore on 8th street. We feasted on great food literally around the corner! It was a 15 min walk from the Metro which was great. Really happy with this place! Wasn’t sure what to expect since it deviates a little from your standard hotel, but we loved it! If I went back to DC, I’d definitely stay here again without a thought!

Great except for TV access
The room was very comfortable. I wish they had clear instructions on how to access the TV channels though. We had to call and have someone come out to get it to work. That's a huge issue they could easily fix. Other than that I would recommend this hotel. It was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed it alot.

The TV didn't work. The chain to work the window blinds was broken. There was no sound insulation between floors. When the guests upstairs were there it sounded like a heard of elephants moving around. Not great at 3 in the morning. I'm called Sober about the first two problems several times and was assured someone would come to fix them but nothing was done

Great, just check the address!
This was a great option for our family of four. Comfy beds, plenty of room, and a well-appointed kitchenette with surprisingly good coffee. The location was relatively quiet; a bit too far from the Metro, but a 10-minute car ride to the National Mall and Capitol Hill. Found a couple of good restaurants right around the corner as well. Just one word of advice: Check the address when you check in! There are 2 adjacent Sonder properties, 816 and 818 Potomac, and they have entirely different entry systems. We spent 20-30 minutes with customer support trying to figure out why our code wasn’t working until we realized there were 2 buildings (and we were at the wrong one).
