"From the moment I walked in and was received by Ana I felt welcomed. The hotel smelled clean. As I entered the room, everything was clean and A/C worked great. The housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful all the time. Whenever we needed supplies they always were helpful. Parking was great also. I will definitely stay here when I come back to Lakeland Florida. "

"Comfort Inn was great - room was perfect (clean, everything in good repair, PLENTY of hot water, comfortable bed with plenty of pillows)- the entire hotel was clean and in good repair - my room was serviced well each day - breakfast was very good (eggs, etc .. not just muffins & coffee in the lobby), staff was courteous & professional. Comfort Inn is my new “go to” hotel for future trips!"

"The room had a dirty floor, a broken coat rack, a damaged A/C control panel, a hole (burned ) in the cover sheet on the bed, and ROACHES (gave one to the staff to prove they needed an exterminator. The whole hotel looked dilapidated. I cancelled my stay and went elsewhere. The only complimentary remark I can make regards the staff - they were courteous, helpful, and apologized for the roaches."

"Dumpy roadside motel. Not clean, nothing new, not safe, crappy neighborhood, no elevators. Like the Dollar General of motels. Love the name Best Hotel."

"The lady at the front desk was very helpful. She even paused her conversation with her friend a couple times to communicate with me. Everything went downhill from there. Hundreds, if not thousands of cigarette butts everywhere on sidewalks. Two people sitting on stairs, smoking as we walked past. Room had potential. Everything seemed to work. There were dirt hand and feet prints on both sets of bed linens. The inside of bathroom door was badly water damaged and painted over. Mold in most corners of the bathroom. Needless to say, we forfeited our money and found a different hotel. We should have trusted all the bad reviews online. I typically don’t give much thought to negative reviews and like to give a place a chance. Not only was it disgusting, I truly did not feel safe staying there with my family. Unfortunately we concerned with finding another hotel and didn’t think about taking pictures."

"This will be last time we stay at any La Quinta Inns. Any motel is much higher quality than this. Everything here is old and outdated. Rooms are dirty, stale smell and black mold on walls. Stained carpets (looks like blood) and mattresses. All lamps are covered with dirt and dust that haven’t been cleaned ever. Broken bathrooms and showers. Zero safety for windows that open all the way without any precaution for children. Stayed at both locations in Lakeland FL and both are terrible! Stay away. "

"Staff was very friendly. Room was bright and decorated nicely, though small as is to be expected at a historic hotel. It was very expensive when we were there, and I don't think worth the price. It appears to be a grand historic hotel, but there's no lobby to appreciate this -- only the dining room. There's no big historic lobby area, just a normal check-in desk. It is really the only place to stay if you want to be in downtown Lakeland, which is nice. We did enjoy walking around the small town. It would be nice if the hotel provided a walking map to the historic buildings or things to see. Free valet parking from a very nice attendant. There's a small veranda at the back for sitting outside."
