"The property was clean and well located with excellent communication from the staff. Since it was advertised as an apartment-hotel I was surprised to find the room was smaller and the kitchen facilities not as well equipped as many of the regular hotels I stayed in on this trip. This was a mid-point stay on my trip and I chose this hotel for the in-room washer/dryer so I could complete the remainder of my trip with clean clothes. The machine was an all-in-one model with the washing and drying taking place inside the same single receptacle. It was terribly inefficient, the instructions printed on the machine were in Italian and it took hours to completely wash and dry a single small load. The hotel provided an English translation cheat sheet for the machine but it was difficult to follow and when simply trying to dry my laundry for another 15 minutes, I hit one wrong button and water poured on top of my nearly dry clothes causing me to have to wait another 3 1/2 hours to complete the washing and drying process all over again. They offer larger washing machines in the lobby but I really wanted the convenience of in-room laundry so I could throw my laundry in and explore the city without having to hang out and wait in a laundromat. While it is a fairly nice hotel, it’s not really an apartment."

"The rooms had not been deep cleaned in a long time, massive build-up of dust and dirt in many corners and around showers etc. It appears the cleaners are not given enough time to actually make sure rooms are clean. Was told they had 1 cleaner on for 20 rooms. The first room I had smelled damp and was not pleasant to be in. The hotel did rectify this for the next two nights with a room change. Breakfast is only available from 8.30 which is way too late for most business travellers and reception only manned from 8am till 6pm. Receipts are not forthcoming and you have to chase to get them. Again, not great for the business traveller."

"Very convenient for early flights from Wellington airport with no need to walk outside to access Departures. Overall staff, hotel amenities, and room were very good. However, the washroom vent was quite noisy which was bothersome."

"Although quite dated, it was still very convenient and the location was very useful having just gotten off the ferry."

"Our stay at Double Tree by Hilton in Wellington, NZ was Fantastic! From the staff service to the quality of the room, amenites and the lovely restaurant for our daily breakfasts and dinners. We cannot fault this Hotel. Everyone goes out of their way to make your stay super special. A special 'thank you' to Inder & his colleagues in the restaurant as well as the reception crew - all very supportive, with a special touch. "The unit was clean, in good condition, and the beds were comfortable. Instant coffee, teabags, sweeteners, and milk were available in the room along with an electric kettle. Check in and out was simple and quick, staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again."
