ABode Canterbury

ABode Canterbury

8/10 Good
"We like the convenience of the hotel and the beds and rooms are nicely clean and the cleaning staff very friendly and helpful. However the reception staff are not that friendly and will ignore you unless you speak directly to them. I am unused to that in a hotel reception. It would be good if they were more welcoming and proactively pleasant. And although the breakfast is included it is just cereal and breads. The full breakfast is a bit of a disappointment and I recommend going elsewhere."

"From check in to check out a wonderful experience. Food in the restaurant was beautiful, breakfast buffet maybe could do with more choice. The spa facilities were very good, although the facial treatment I received, I thought overpriced for 20mins. Overall the cleanliness, staff, location were perfect Will definitely book again."

8/10 Good
"Beautiful hotel and pub. Check-in was unfortunately not great, we did have to queue for 30min in the hall to be checked in due to the card machine not working. The staff was kind and apologetic about this but it was kind of annoying there was no dedicated check in area. We felt a bit in the way of other patrons trying to get a table for the dining room while standing there. The room itself was spacious and really well equipped (coffee, tea, snacks, water, good hair dryer). Beautiful bathroom & great shower pressure. Comfortable bed. It was a bit loud in the morning as the windows are quite thin and we could hear the kegs for the pub being loaded inside. But we were glad to be awake for the delicious breakfast. Honestly I would stay here again even though there were a couple hick ups along the way. The staff were helpful and the room very cosy which always makes the stay worthwhile."

"The hotel was set in a nice, quiet location with lovely views. The room was a good size, plenty of room and tea/coffee making facilities. The decor in the room was very tasteful and the bathroom was really spacious. Very clean accommodation. The room was cleaned daily. We didnโ€™t eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. Lovely seating area outside. Ample parking. Only downside was the bed and pillows which were far too soft for us but obviously that is just down to personal taste. All in all a very enjoyable 3 day break and will definitely be staying again ."

"Staff, food, general bar and entertainment areas all good. Some seats in lift areas on each floor would be helpful for people with mobility issues and parking was a problem. Room was a bit basic even for a standard twin and the beds were extremely narrow but it was well set out and clean."
