Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Natchez South by IHG
2/10 Terrible
"The hotel stay was fairly O.K. until I checked my account and they had charged me twice for the room which came to over $1000 in charges that they had charged my bank card. I was in town for a conference and my employer had sent the payment in the form of a check ahead of time as they requested. And even though I had called to verify that they had received payment from my employer they still charged my bank account two times for my stay. The person that I talked to that morning verified that they have received the check and the amount required for my stay. But after I had checked out and looked at my bank statement the hotel had charged me two times for this room. The manager said that they had not received the payment, although it was verified by an employee there prior to my arrival. And yet she still cannot explain why my card was charged two times not once but two times for my stay. So would I recommend this hotel? No. Needless to say I will not be staying there again. Then on top of all that housekeeping was poor because I had to leave a note for the housekeeper to empty my trash and leave some tissue in the bathroom. So this hotel gets a thumbs down from me."
"This is an ideal stop for those looking to get away from standard, modern hotels. The old house (inc restaurant) is presented very much as it was in its heyday. The complimentary tour was informative and entertains. Most bedrooms are in buildings set around the plantation and thoughtfully decorated but with a/c and good shower facilities.breakfast was limited to a choice of two dishes (plus juice, fruit, etc) perfectly adequate and served in another out building which facilitated a walk through the well maintained and laid out gardens. Well worth it for something different!"
"Staying at the Choctaw Hall Bed and Breakfast isn’t lodging, it’s an experience. My time there felt like a modern day glimpse into Gone With the Wind, minus the plantation. Lee and David are incredible hosts and curators of living history. The love they have for their home and their town emanates through with every recommendation to making the most of enjoying our time in Natchez and their knowledge of all things beautiful. Thank you both for the breakfasts at local favorites-The Natchez Coffee Company and The Little Easy, coffee in the morning under the magnificent oaks, and sodas along my walks through town. More importantly, thank you sharing your Southern Gentlemanly charm and spirit with me and my friends and opening your home to us."
