Resort has that beachy vibe of a Club Med from back in the 80's, but without the excessive partying. A very relaxed, shorts-and-barefeet feeling where you can go from pool to beach to bar, and charge anything (very reasonably priced) to your room. Room itself is fairly spartan, but the bed is very comfortable, and the cleaning staff is outstanding. Not at all busy when we were there, so it was easy to schedule a masage, as well as cab rides to wherever we needed to go. A well-needed respite during a month-long holiday through six countries!

Ho Tram Beach boutique Resort was a wonderful place to stay! We were there for New Years Eve and celebrate with a seafood buffet on the beach.

Beautiful Ho Tram Boutique!
This is a gorgeous property. Staff is very pleasant. Not empowered to give free upgrades but that would be my only complaint. Otherwise a fantastic stay and would definitely return!

Great stay here. Very relaxing and nice to sit at one of the pools, play tennis or be on the beach. I did get stung by a jellyfish, but that’s nature—the workers had vinegar ready & helped relieve the sting. Breakfast buffet was nice, but dinner was just okay. The drinks & juices are amazing. I also love their eco-friendly efforts—the straws are lemongrass instead of plastic, and they have natural bug repellants (lemongrass oil) all around the area you can use. Also many locations for you to fill up your water bottle.

The site was tranquil, well maintained in beautiful surroundings. Beach was good with beach bar, with food available . Two swimming pools, fresh and salt water, salt water is by far the better pool. The room was very nice, the only let down was the bathroom, which needed a refresh. Nothing to not like about the resort

Understated but elegant. Staff was fantastic. They were very cheerful and helpful at all times. The food was very good and the pools, beach and tennis courts were all well maintained, very clean and perfect for our needs. Approaches a five star Carribean experience at a fraction of the expense.

It’s was quiet for Vietnam. But very expensive. Ridiculous actually for Vietnam. The beach was yuck. Pools great, rooms ok, bed brilliant, but maintenance was average. At least ten minutes to the town so you paid heavily for anything. Cost more for three days than the trip to Vietnam and the trip before to Thailand

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and the decor and quality of the bedrooms and bathrooms was excellent. The shared common room of the family suite wasn’t air conditioned, and we were too far in from the beach to get a sea breeze, so it was very hot in that room (but good AC in the bedrooms). They did give us a fan so that helped. The facilities and grounds were very, very attractive and the tennis courts were in good shape. The pool needed some maintenance work, but they got right on it when they saw the danger and fixed the problem (worn tile edges). The beach is fantastic and the WiFi was good. The food and drinks were reasonably priced, as well. Thanks again for a nice weekend, we will be back!

Heavenly retreat
I have been coming here for nearly 10 years and usually come 2 or 3 times a year. It is one of my happy places in Vietnam and go there to totally relax on that lovely beach. The staff are great and the hotel has a unique setting amid gardens.

Ho Tram had an excellent position on the beach and the rooms were laid out very well around the pools and lagoons in a way that felt there was plenty of room. We particularly liked the large sea water swimming pool that was very peaceful. We felt that the accommodation was starting to look in need of improvement. The beach bar was rather tatty. The restaurant staff were good but there seemed to be too few of them to give the level of service that we would have liked.

Grounds are lovely, but not lush- not that we really expected “jungle lush” beach is expansive with lovely soft white sand. And very private! Bespoke feature is the saltwater pool, infinity edged on horizon side. Temperature perfect! & quiet relaxation seemed to be the etiquette adhered to by guests’ (not stuffy, just chill & tranquil) We enjoyed the breakfast offerings & the service there, non smokers be sure to avoid outside tables, as on our visit most guests seemed to be enjoying cigarettes liberally (no judging) even mid meal. The other freshwater pool is pleasant but small with a nice cold water therapy pool, not sure if the water slide (very small) is a Very safe idea for guests of any height or age as it lands you into kiddie pool shallow water. We would recommend the Asian menu offerings only in all food venues, western offerings were flavor free & tepid at best. The outside bath/showers were pleasant & refreshing. Not luxe, but I don’t think this resort promised such, either. While there the slippery pre filled tiny shampoo/conditioner slipped out of my friends hand & we were charged for “breaking” it. The charge would of covered many a pallet of the very replaceable trinket. We did not argue as staff was just short of adamant about our carelessness. This is a very remote location, so staff was informative about mosquitos & netting use etc etc. We were NOT prepared for rodent dropping’s in room. Remote location soooo. ?!

A few days at ho Tram
A really nice place to relax and unwind. There is a lovely beach and a freshwater pool and sea water pool. There is not much else about so you have to eat and drink in resort.

The grounds are beautiful and most of the staff are extremely pleasant. However we had one dinner at the restaurant and it was very underwhelming. The table cloth was dirty and when we asked for it to be changed the waitress complained. The restaurant didn't have many of the fresh juices on the menu including Coconuts! My other issue is with the bathrooms, they have what is supposed to be a feature where the shower has no roof and you can bath under the starry night, but in reality it lets you hear your neighbor in the bathroom as if he was sitting next to you taking a dump and the mosquitoes infest the place at night and will eat you alive. Because of all of these issues I think the hotel is overpriced for the level of service it provides but it is still the best option for a quick excursion out of HCMC and will probably visit again

Property is getting run down and attitude of most of the staff along with it. We booked a one bedroom pool villa. 1. for the first 24 hours there was no hot water. An engineer came shortly after check in and informed us that the temperature was normal and left. Next day they tried the same excuse but one staff member was persistent and finally we got hot water to the room. 2. Response from house keeping and F&B staff very slow. 3. Food quality at the restaurant for dinner was very poor. 4. Beach bar is lacking any decent area to sit on the beach. The 'bartender' I don't think has ever made a cocktail before. The drinks she tried to make were disgusting. 5. We used the Spa and were disappointed. Steam and Sauna are not available except on demand. Receptionist was clueless, but technicians were good. 6. The day we left I had multiple insect bites over my arms and legs. Not sure where they came from - outdoors at the spa or from the bedsheets. There were not mosquito bites but crawling insects. The concept of the pool villa is great, but the overall experience of this resort - for the price - is very disappointing.

Perfect getaway.
Although getting to Ho Tram is not direct unless you take a taxi from HCMC or have your own car, it is worth it. Take the hydrofoil to Vung Tau and then a xe om (if travelling solo) taxi or pre arranged pick up from the resort. The resort is exquisite.. And makes up for the sandflies but every bungalow has herbal repellent just in case you are out at dawn or dusk.- a small price to pay. The resort offers complimentary yoga and trips to neighbouring towns. Join the staff and grab a bag and pick up some rubbish whilst you walk on the beach. Amazing what you find when looking after the environment. Maybe themost strenuous thing you do.

The resort is great, nice pools, on the beach. The staff at the beach bar are very unfriendly and you always seems to bother them. They are slow to deliver the food, and never smile. Don't expect legendary Vietnamese friendliness there.

Beautiful nature setting in a quiet beach resort
This is a great place to relax, in traditional style bungalows and rooms. If you wanna get away from everything and just enjoy a quiet environment in traditional setting with beaches or gardens, this is the place. I really liked the Premier room because the patio was bigger and the interior nicer than the bungalows. Have also stayed in a deluxe bungalow, which wasn't much different than a normal bungalow. Much quieter on weekdays than on weekends!!! PROS: Spacious rooms Traditional decor Peaceful and quiet Nice views from patios Lots of quiet beach with many lounge chairs spread along beach under palm roofs Pleasant pools Beach bar Nice restaurant with good selection Friendly and helpful staff Pretty grounds Open air lounge/library for relaxing Resort was very quiet during weekdays with only a couple dozen older Europeans CONS: Sloooooow internet. Better to just get a local sim card in your phone and not use wifi. Even tether your computer to phone is better than wifi. Beds are pretty hard, not very comfortable to me. TV is SMALL and far away from the bed. Lots of mosquitoes. Insect repellant was included in room, but I still got many bites. Resort was fully booked on the weekend with lots of local families and kids.

Quiet, secluded place! We had Lily 2 bungalow, me and my son (27), daughter (23). 3 day vaca for my kids from working. The staff was superior and did whatever they could for us. We walked the beach, played in the 2 lovely pools and had delightful meals. Thank you for a lovely vacation with my kids.

Relaxing and clean Resort
We stayed for 4 nights in this beautiful lush resort and enjoyed every moment. The western Menu on the restaurant was amazing. We really enjoyed the seafood BBQ buffet on a saturday night, very nice variety of items. The pools and the facilities were great as well. The rooms were cleaned twice a day which we liked it very much. Only drawback is there is no much entertainment outside the resort which makes us to limit ourselves to stay inside. the beach bar was fantastic and chilling. Definitely a place to relax.
