The hotel staff were extra helpful and friendly. Not only did they brought us to the snow monkey area, seeing that our clothings were not sufficient, they went extra miles by lending us winter jackets and boots. We were very happy during our 2 nights stay.

Quiet relaxing onsen place. Very comfortable stay and staff was efficient but yet not intrusive.

We stayed as a family of 4 (5&8yo) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Whilst they sometimes were a little short on English the staff tried very hard at every opportunity to assist us and make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast is great and we enjoyed it every day and the private onsen is a highlight - very relaxing and I would definitely recommend booking it. Hotel is close to the train and we found it easy to walk around town for dinner, etc.

Amazing stay with top notch service that lets you experience a true Japanese hospitality with the ever friendly and helpful staff.

A cozy onsen ryokan with very attentive and helpful male staff. I was truly impressed by his excellent service and will definitely return for another stay. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Although the onsen is not very large, it offers both indoor and outdoor baths and was pleasantly quiet with few people around.

Good stay at the hotel

Very attentive staff and soooo polite! Very clean. The momoyama bath is unesco world heritage

Our stay at Aburaya Tousen was a memorable experience. We arrived quite late but had no trouble finding the place. There are a few free parking lots around, which made things easy. Service stood out right from the start.. a staff member came out to greet us and helped carry our luggage from the gravel parking area. Check in was done while we were seated in a nice, modern lounge, with snacks and tea served. It felt very welcoming and thoughtful. We went for a more traditional Japanese style...

Beautiful minshuku within walking distance to Shibu onsen Main Street. The staff are friendly and kind, welcoming us like family. Food was delicious and plentiful. The star of the stay was the absolutely amazing outdoor onsen! Would be better if the room has blackout curtains but that is a small quibble

Cozy place that’s conveniently accessible to Yudanaka station. There’s a convenience store (Lawson) located right outside the train station and on the way to Shimaya. The couple who owns the place is very friendly, often greeting guests at the common area throughout the day. Room is spacious enough for 2, including much space for airing snowboarding attire. Comes with hot water that is replaced everyday, as well as green tea powder if you wish to make your own. Washroom and bathroom are...

Nice kaiseki dinner and breakfast was served. Had free use of small private bath. Great place for onsen lovers as guests have free access to 9 different onsen all over the little village. Village is next to narrow road up to snow monkey park

Amazing cafe food during dinner! Would recommend the Curry and the Miso Meat Spaghetti

A true ryokan experience in a property that is 810 years old! But it looks nothing like a 810 years old building as the exterior and interior were well-maintained and kept really neat and clean. The family running this ryokan were very helpful and friendly with sorting us out during our stay. They were keen to recommend places around the vicinity and helped with our luggage forwarding. Highly recommend dining in the ryokan as well as you will be served a table full of spectacular japanese...

Nice quiet place by the river and very friendly staff. Great value for money.
