Clean property but even though there's kitchenette, there's a sign not to use the induction stovetop and you will have to go lobby to use the microwave. Very slow elevator as well.

A hotel built for a world exhibition 10 years ago, but the facility has not aged well. Mold on shower seals stands out. The architect tossed glossy features, concepts the didn’t age well such as the shower with a clear glass wall shared with the bedroom. (?) Elevators were a major time wasting exercise. The management needed to go less fancy and more tasteful.

We deeply regret staying at UTOP Hotel in Yeosu for the following reasons: Firstly, we experienced significant inconvenience due to the failure to confirm the customer's request when making a room reservation. Despite requesting a room with a bed according to the reservation information, we were forced to stay in an ondol room by the front desk staff in accordance with your company policy. Please refer to the attached reservation number for further details. Secondly, due to your company's customer service policy, our trust as customers was seriously damaged. Although we received a phone call in advance from your staff about a late check-in, we did not receive any information about the room we would be assigned in advance. Thirdly, the breakfast was subpar as most of the food lacked professionalism, and the layout of the dining area did not consider the movement of other guests. For example, the waffles were not crispy, and the bacon was not properly drained of oil, making it taste like Korean-style pork belly. For the above reasons, we are extremely disappointed with our stay at UTOP Hotel in Yeosu, which was the worst experience during our trip.

No many options for restaurants.. most restaurants around this hotel provide no options for meals.. exactly same menu n ripping off your budget. I rather stay in town not this area.

One of belongs was disappeared after room cleaning but the staff wasn't helpful to find it or take responsibility. The clening staff insisted to clean the room on her schedule, she made us out of room. Over all services were very poor. It was noisy after 12am.

This place was so busy at check in time, they required guests to get on a wait-list. It was quite difficult to even get on the wait-list without a Korean phone number. On top of that, the room we got did not have any bed - it was a traditional style room with a super thin blanket. It was the most uncomfortable stay I have ever experienced. I'm sure it was described on the Expedia website (I hope that's the case), but it was absolutely not clear enough for me to notice.

Very lacking.
Staff was nice and accommodating. No place to eat other than coffee cafes and bar food. Breakfast buffet closes at 9:30 a.m. and the food was not that good. Pillows smelled and when we got new ones they smelled too, as if they were not washed in a while. Elevators were the worst. 10-minute wait when crowded. Recommend other hotels in the area.

The front desk staffs are very professional and friendly. We reserved 3 rooms to stay in, however, due to the Covid situation, one family member was unable to travel to Korea. The hotel acknowledged the situation well and refunded the bill for one hotel room. In addition, the hotel breakfast buffet menu was pretty good, and the hotel room was clean and well organized

Not recommended!
Overrated and overpriced hotel. The room has a full kitchen that you are not allowed to use even tho it is described in the description. They don't speak English, and the gym is pretty poor for a hotel that advertised as four stars. If you want to use the pool, you have to pay extra. So you’d better choose another hotel in Yeosu.

Perfect Location
This hotel was very clean and the location was perfect. We walked to the Expo Center, the Big O Show, the cable cars, and Odongdo Island. Loved having a balcony to sit on and enjoy the gorgeous view. Our room even had a nice sized refrigerator and a washing machine.

room is too small. and it is not a hotel. just korean motel. but room rate is very expensive. i recommend to stay another motel with half price.

Great rooms great view great location great service. Only two cons: no air conditioner in room floor hallways and the wait for the elevators (although it wasn't as bad for us as the other reviews)

Smoking problem
The hotel was good overall. But the problem is, smoking smell kept coming through the terrace from below for the whole stay. I asked the front to stop that sort of behavior cuz I couldn’t know who smoked below, but they only had given out a warning message through internal broadcasting system but it didn’t work at all. Quite disappointing. They should have taken more proactive measure to prevent smoking.

Loved our stay
We really enjoyed our stay. Very nice ocean view. Little terrace was so nice to chill and enjoy the view. From our room we were able to see the O-show as well. Didnt know that we had to pay for the pool, so ended up not going but other than that there was gym and area where we could play pingpong and kareoke so that was nice.

Disappointed
I was looking forward to staying here but was disappointed by the time that I left. Check-in went okay, but my questions couldn't really be answered as the front desk staff didn't speak very much English. My room was very sparse, there was nowhere comfortable to sit and the bed was hard and uncomfortable. I had a view of the ocean but was in a room close to a large exterior wall that prevented me from seeing the sunrise. There was no stand for my suitcase so there was no place to unpack comfortably. Breakfast was okay, but we were charged a higher rate because the desk staff did not tell us that we had to pay at the front desk to get the cheaper rate. I will not choose to stay here again when I return to Yeosu.

Party hotel
Party hotel. Not good for families and couples that want to relax. Broken pieces of soju bottles inside the room and balcony. Tape on ceiling probably from balloons or decorations. Outside pool party had music playing past 10pm. Normally I would just close the window but it was very hot because I couldn't control the Heater.

I just returned from a trip. Now I am very sick due to a heating problem in UTOP Hotel. The heating didn't stop over my two-day stay so during the night I should open the door while sleeping even though the negative temperature outside. I reported to the hotel the next day. One guy came and said the whole hotel room temperature is fixed and uncontrollable. I really couldn't understand how the whole hotel room's heating temperature is fixed and uncontrollable and leave the room temperature to 29 degrees no matter set up 18 or switch off the temperature controller? I asked the guy if he really can't control or stop the heating running I rather stay cold than choked die in hot. He promised me as an engineer, he would come back in 2 hrs and make sure not to run the heating. When I returned back to the Hotel at 10PM, I found still the room temperature was 29 degree. I called again then other guy show up and saying not having any report my room #1704. I start explaining all over again but he couldn't fix it as expected. Another guy knock the door around 12AM and saying if we want move to other room will be okay. I was really mad and told him not to bother me anymore. It seems they didn't take this seriously. When I checked out no one say sorry. I felt even they don't know what happened. Now I have chills and body pain due to two days in a row of sleep in hot & cold and sleepless. I feel really bad and regret staying at that UTOP hotel.
