We loved the location of the hotel. It was close to shopping and lots of restaurants were in the vicinity. Superb selection of items at breakfast. We especially liked the local items on the buffet. The room was clean and the staff responded to our concerns immediately. There was also no language barrier. Would stay there again.

We are a family of 5 from US traveling in Indonesia. The level of service we recieved in Novotel hotel was far beyond what we can imagine. My husband got sick and they were so helpful. The hotel is clean, very centric. I'd recommend to anyone!!

The hotel was ok. We had an issue with our room which was not well cleaned but once we told them they quickly changed us to a new one. We had a sunrise excursion and they made our breakfast beforehand so we could have something to eat. The hotel was very good located next to a mall. I would stay here again, I stayed at many Novotels and this is the only one I had an issue with the cleaning but they were fast to solve it and very accommodating, so I would come back

Everyone and everything is great. Zalfa at check in was par excellence and also helped in making train reservation for me. The area is bustling with stores, live music bands, food, horse carriages and what not. Excellent area to stay in. Zalfa also helped in extending our stay for one more night. Highly recommend.

Novotel is a very attractive modern and clean hotel, located right off Malioboro, and in close proximity to the train station and the Malioboro mall. My room was very appealing and comfortable, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I would certainly stay here again.

Location is fantastic, right smack at Jl Malioboro, 10-min walk from the train station, 15-min walk to Mbah Satinem (you gotta eat her breakfast! truly good, not just for the sentimental reasons). We stayed for 5-nites and got a few check-out gifts, which I have never received from any hotels that I've stayed at (nada from Westin, Marriott, Hilton, Ritz, ever!). The only complaints are pricey foods/drinks at poolside areas. There are free-to-use bikes onsite. No issues encountered during the stay, happy with the services!

The hotel was fine. The room was good value. Breakfast was OK. The mall next to the hotel has few interesting shops but does have a couple of useful supermarkets. Walking around is hard with all the motorbikes taking up the road and footpaths but that is generalised and not specifically the hotel's issue. All in all reasonable value for a quick stay.

Staff was friendly and helpful. They promptly fixed a problem with our aircon. Good breakfast buffet. The rooms are not super soundproof, and we could hear the family next door quite late at night. I mention names of employees here, hoping they do get recognition,--nobody solicited me for this review. I stayed at this hotel for five days and was pleasantly surprised by how much it offered, especially for the price. While the building is older, it’s very well maintained, and the rooms are clean with comfortable beds, crisp white sheets, and towels. I had one of the more affordable rooms, but the large east-facing windows offered stunning views of the city and mountains. If you do nothing else, visit the rooftop pool and restobar on the 10th floor—even if you’re staying elsewhere. The views, breeze, and relaxed atmosphere make it a destination. The staff up there were exceptional—shoutout to Andre, Made, Upay, Rhe, and Bhuda. Friendly, honest, and passionate about what they do. I even met the GM and the Chef on two occasions—not drinking, but personally checking in on guests, which says a lot about their commitment. Breakfast is worth including in your booking. There's a wide selection, an outdoor smoking area, and a relaxed setting. The Wi-Fi worked seamlessly for five days straight without needing to log in repeatedly, which is rare. Security was strong and consistent, giving me peace of mind during my stay. A big plus was the list of recommended local restaurants provided at check-in—extensive menus, great food, and nearby. Ironically, the service at those restaurants didn’t match the high-quality service I got at the hotel. Location-wise: Great
