"The hotel reminds me of the 1990's heyday-era in Japan. The room was big and clean and we enjoyed it, but it looked dated and a little worn. For instance, the carpet is not perfectly clean...like it was definitely clean from a vacuum point of view, but you could tell that in 2018, etc., someone spilled something over a bit of it and the hotel did their best.
If this type of thing is an issue, you may not want to stay here. But we wanted a basic, clean hotel with a big room, and it was very nice to stretch out after being in tighter accommodations. The pool was fine, although the hot tub wasn't all that hot.
One plus:
Depending on when you go, you may line up with a delightful night market at the neighboring park. We did and it was wonderful. So, while our original idea was "get us closer to the airport on our last day", it turned out to be a wonderful location with respect to the night market. The market had an atmosphere of a summer fair and is largely locals (assumed), since this is not one of the famous ones in neighboring Taipei.
Overall - reasonable value."
