"This is a good location right near the train station and although the area around might look a little messy to western eyes, it's actually a lovely hotel. It has a great gym and the rooftop pool is nice. The one issue we had was with the bedroom which has this massive TV blocking the window. It was a little irritating and also the TV sits on a lip in the floor that I tripped over about four times! And the problem is if you reach out to stop yourself from falling forward you either grab the TV or hit the window! So a bit of a design fail there. Another fail was the "wet room" bath and shower that leaked into the other room if you're not careful. (One irritating aside: some of the rooms had coffee makers โ€“ โ€“ Nespresso โ€“ โ€“ and some did not. For some reason I guess some of the room classes give you Nespresso) The breakfast buffet was very nice--by the time we got here we had been at two other hotels with breakfast buffets! And this one stood up well โ€“ โ€“ and I like the fact that you could select what time you wanted to go although even though we selected later in the morning it was still crazy busy because there was some kind of conference going on. I also want to give a nice shout out to the restaurant because they actually had local Taiwan craft beer which is incredibly rare to find in Taiwan."

"My room was thoughtfully decorated. We enjoyed the Japanese themed room with tatami mats and all the Japanese trinkets. The room was clean and the bathroom was big and modern. My only complaint, would be that it was a bit hard to find. The hotel is located in a small alley way so sometimes the Google Maps donโ€™t register them well. The staff had sent me a video of how to find the place, but at the time, I had trouble opening it so didnโ€™t refer to it. There wasnโ€™t any staff per se, but someone could be reached via WhatsApp if you needed something. You enter the facility by entering numbers on the touchpad and so communicating with the staff via WhatsApp is important to get the codes. That is how you check in and check out. The hotel is conveniently located. You walk out of the alley way and there are tons of restaurants to choose from and stores to shop at. It is also walkable distance to the train station."

"A bit of a stretch was the AC, couldnโ€™t control temperature, only fan speed, light switches were confusing at first, decent size room, location was ok as far as walking distance, but the ultra cheap tourist bus that can take you the most sites stops practically in front of the house, also walking distance from station, the abandoned restaurant/dining room looks a bit tired and depressing. All and all still good value for money, but not perfect"
