"Location was perfect for a solo female, literally opposite monastiraki square & metro station. Walking distance to all usual attractions, shops & restaurants etc. Reception staff were wonderful, responsive with my questions before & during my stay. Luggage storage was available which was great for my last day. Room was immaculate & cleaned daily. I stayed in mid-March - no need for aircon. Breakfast was plentiful & the Restaurant has views over the square & the acropolis / Parthenon. Roof bar/terrace was lovely and a very popular venue throughout the evening. My room was on 5th floor and the base line was audible but not disturbing for me. Would recommend this hotel & would definitely return."

"Staff were helpful, breakfast nice, view from 9th floor amazing! The only bad thing was that there was a renovation starting at 9am… when some people still wanted to sleep. Also it was very noisy around the hotel (collecting rubbish glass at 1am). In the bathroom - shower panel was not closing properly so the floor was full of water "

"All of the Staff were very friendly and helpful from start to finish. It was out of season so quiet in the hotel, plenty of choice for breakfast and a free bottle of wine in our room on arrival was a nice touch. Lovely view from the rooftop bar. The area is having a number of roadworks done and pavement improvements, but overall location was great for getting around the city on foot, and only 5 minutes from the metro station, so used the metro for airport transfers which was a big cost saver."

"We had a wonderful stay at Athens Gate. The location was perfect and the staff were lovely. The hotel restaurant was very nice with amazing Acropolis views, and the included breakfast was surprisingly tasty. We would happily stay here again. Only small downsides were street noise at night, but I brought earplugs. "
