I enjoyed my stay even after Hurricane Beryll coming through. The staff was very accommodating and the food and drinks were delicious. It’s a hidden gem in the mountains. A quiet Oasis!
We stayed at Takuma for three nights and it was amazing. It was safe. The food by Ms. Carole was AMAZING!! Staff was very accommodating. The pool was a great temperature. Honestly, the food was way better than the resorts.
The staff was friendly and were very helpful the food was good and we enjoyed our stay only problem was that when booking they had some miss communication and the hotel didn’t have our reservation.

Overall the place was clean, however, the owner micro manages the staff and the amount of food they served to rue guess. She even micro managed the hand soap which she gave as dish washing soap. It was that bad. Comfortable and felt like exiles in her parent home. I definitely would not recommend anyone to this property

False advertisement. Not what was offered. Thought this was a hotel and suite. It’s someone’s home they turned into rooms to rent. after I checked in the guy said oh someone is in the other room. Also, he said the premises shuts down at 11pm. Like really we’re on vacation and again it’s a private home so you can’t get it like that. We ran out of there so early the next morning. Would never recommend.

This property should allowed to have tourist or anyone that is not from the area I booked it last minute and couldn’t get into the property and when I called the owner he was rude and said he’s not in Jamaica he lives overseas and can’t control outside. Allow tho I got a welcome message they weren’t even expecting me .. This was the worst experience and also it’s misleading
Takuma Boutique Hotel is a hidden gem in within Mt Zion community, within the backdrop of nature, mountains and prestine beach views. Our stay at Takuma was refreshing, relaxing and overall enjoyable. We stayed 6 nights, ate wonderfully prepared meals by Ms Carol, made from local fare, fruits straight off the trees around the hotel, and vegetables picked from her gardens. If you want authentic Jamaican meals prepared with love and wonderful spices this is the place to be. Mr Gus was wonderful and attentive if we needed anything and advised us of local beaches, trails for ATV and horseback riding right up the mountain. This is the best place to stop to quench your thirst as Mr Gus makes the best Rum Punch you will ever drink, you may not be able to stop at one. Mr Oren oversaw the daily happenings on the grounds, music to move your soul to nightly poolside moveis, and advised us of places to go and places to stay away from. Overall Mr Oren, Ms Carol and Mr Gus were such a delight to get to know and spend the week with. I am sad to be leaving this beautiful paradise, but know I will be back to vist very soon. Thank you for making our vacation so excusite.

Go at your own risk.
The Cheff and servers were amazing. As far as management, they sucked. I was charged for everything which is okay. However we didn’t have hot water for days. Didn’t even know we were supposed to have hot water until staff asked. They did nothing about it no complimentary nothing. Talked to a guy from Boston over the phone we agreed on me paying a certain price for my guess who I forgot to add to the original reservation. Then he changed the price. I honestly feel as though these ppl were trying to get as much money out of me. (As a man stick to your word) They didn’t really care about anything else. Rooms weren’t ready when we got there. I felt this place has so much potential if they would cater more to being genuine humans than just trying to take as much of your money.
I didn’t like the location it was in firstly. It was on top of a hill surrounded by many people having parties, and cars parked hazardously. There were dogs and even pigs, and there was feces on the floor of the entrance. It was extremely difficult and unsafe for cars to enter the property. Additionally, on Expedia it was advertised very misleadingly. The beach was far from the place. Also, I wasn’t told I had to share a room with a random family. This is unsafe, as I have young children and a young daughter who are vulnerable. Overall, it was unclean and unsafe. I already reported it, and I need a refund. I haven’t seen one yet. I did not even check into the place. I arrived, and was shocked and asked for a refund immediately as I refused to stay there. I need a full refund. Thank you.

Staff was friendly however this is not a hotel and amenities offered were not available there is not 2 restaurants no art gallery no deli on site no shopping store on site. Pool side bar is closed. Only open bar is 4 flights up. We asked to have bottle brought down so the elderly lady doesn’t have to go up and down in doing so they filled up half a pint bottle for $100 of grey goose. Dinner was prepared by Ms.Carol which was delicious but way over priced at $30.00 per plate when we went to a local restaurant we were not charged half as much and we were checked on frequently. At Dinner we literally were offered water given our meal and no one checked on us so we simply got up said good night and left. Thankfully this was only 1 night. And they should be clear on what offer and have on site. Omar,Paulette and Carol are Great i For service I give them a 5 but for everything else I give them a 1… Pool area is nice but Pool was a bit dirty. There is absolutely nothing to do nothing around the area unless you get transportation it was nothing like we imagined. Thankfully we were at a different hotel for our stay and this was our last night. Very dissatisfied and will not rebook or recommend to anyone. Oh and no art gallery on site either.
The room I booked wasn't available and I was placed in a room with no AC. There was no stove like they stated in the house. There wasn't much of anything to do in the area. The food was very over priced and it didn't worth it. The people in the community is very nice and pleasant. I wouldn't go back to stay at this property but I will visit the community for the friends i met...
PROS - Staff. Service. Breakfast. Location. Clean. Views. Comfort. Bathroom. Balconies.
CONS - Location. Amenities.
I LOVED my stay. Check-in and Check-out was a Breeze. Staff was so nice and helpful. Our flight landed late and we had a few errands to run before arriving So with couple of phone calls & texts I was able to checkin super late (which I apologize & appreciate your patience with me). Breakfast was delicious Everyday. The View from the balcony in the bedroom was so Beautiful. The Bathroom was nice and clean with good water pressure. The whole layout is nice in the Suites. My only Issue is that the bedrooms do not have televisions. They are located in the living room/seating area. Also the location is in Bush. Its a bumpy ride up once turning off highway. Its kind of hard to find. But I will definitely stay there again!!
