The Brakeman Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel was like a dream. A beautiful first floor with a bakery, little train museum, and a great energy. The first floor is used as a tourist attraction, so expect others around (was no bother at all). Then you walk into the two key card doors (to ensure guests only) and use your key a 3rd time (felt super safe). The room we received was huge! Vaulted ceilings, brick walls, large windows and modern but lovely decorations/furniture. The walk from the hotel to Bourbon street wasn't bad, only a few minutes. You pass a lot along the way including a gas station and police station. One of the nicest staff I've ever encountered. Lovely at all times of day! 10/10 Everyone should stay here!"

"The staff was very helpful and very accommodating; super easy check in process. Be warned that not all of the rooms have historic charm. The lighting in the bathroom is horrible for ladies who want to see themselves to apply makeup. If you don't expect all the comforts of a normal hotel, you won't be disappointed (bath mat, multiple bedside table lamps, etc.). Great location to our favorite "sleepy" side of the quarter."

"Amazing hotel! It is an apartment with all the amenities! Even had silverware, pots and pans, plates and bowls, coffee maker, refrigerator with freezer, stove top, microwave, etc! Comfortable bed! Spacious living room, kitchen and bedroom! Balcony overlooking Rampart is amazing! Right next door to Keys Gas Station! Very great location! Very convenient! Staff was amazing! All 3 ladies that worked the front were amazing! Amanda was awesome and very helpful with everything as I arrived! I will definitely be back! And this may be my only destination in the future for future French quarter stays! Thanks y'all! I'll be back!"
