Warwick, the county town of Warwickshire, is famous for its magnificent castle and its historic charm.

Warwick has many attractions to visit for a day out with the family or a short visit. Attractions include beautiful parks and gardens, all within walking distance of the town centre. There are also art galleries and traditional English tea rooms.

Warwick has a good selection of accommodation to choose from, ranging from independent guesthouses to boutique hotels.

Warwick Castle is often described as Britain’s ultimate castle where visitors can immerse themselves in its history, as well as experience the excitement of Merlin, as seen on the BBC. A glamping village is also available on site if you want a more quirky overnight stay in the castle grounds.

Collegiate Church of St. Mary’s is well worth a visit. Steeped in history and beautiful to behold, the church dominates the Warwick skyline with its imposing tower. There are some ancient tombs and crypts within the church, each with their own story of their inhabitant. Church guides are on hand to answer any questions.

Pay a visit to Lord Leycester Hospital, a building that dates all the way back to the 12th Century that’s now a home for ex-servicemen. It’s a truly unexpected find with friendly and well informed staff on hand to answer any questions you might have. Attached is also the Collegiate Church, which is beautiful. It’s famous for appearing in TV costume dramas and a piece of Warwick that should not be missed.

If the weather is nice then bring the family to St. Nicholas Park with plenty for the kids to see and do. Park activities include a crazy golf course, children’s play area, amusement rides, boats for hire and so much more. The park itself is clean and very well maintained with adequate parking and toilet facilities, making for a great family day out in Warwickshire.

Sporting enthusiasts’ will not be disappointed with a visit to Warwickshire. The town has its own cricket team and the county ground Edgbaston often plays host to the England Cricket team. If you fancy a flutter at the races, check out dates of race meetings at Warwick Racecourse before your visit, with the track having several planned meetings throughout the calendar year.
