“Fantastic service.”
The good: - Some of the best service I have received anywhere in the world. - The hotel is home to several excelent restaurants. - One of the best locations in Tokyo. 30m from subway. 5 blocks from Tokyo Station. 5 minutes to the Imperial Palace. The bad: - Check-in is at 14:00hrs. You need to negotiate to get a room earlier. - Room service is ridiculously expensive. Expect to pay through the nose. - The rooms do not feel brand new. Overall: A great experience. Highly recommended.
“Altogether an excellent experience.”
The service, the bedroom and the ambience were of a very high standard. The location is also very good for a short visit such as mine.
“Imperial location”
The Imperial Hotel is a wonderful hotel in a great location. Walking distance to Ginza, Imperial Gardens and good restaurants. Helpful staff.
“Tokyo's finest”
We normally lodged at 5-star western hotels when we visited the city. This was our first time staying at this Tokyo landmark hotel. We were more than just impressed as it had Japanese quality stamped all over. Besides its convenient location (right next to Ginza, Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station), the service here was simply impeccable. The staff was courteous and paid attention to the smallest details. They also spoke excellent English so communication was never a problem. I think that we've just found our new favorite place in town.
“Superb”
Beautiful hotel, a prestigious place with an outstanding service, perfectly located. That said, the Peninsula, located one block away, was even better (one of the best hotels in the world, I would say)
“One of the best hotels in the world”
The staff through the entire hotel are courteous without being overbearing. The guests' requests are taken care of immediately and the level of comfort is extremely high.
“Impressive Hotel and helpful staff”
This hotel is very impressive as one would expect and the staff were very helpful and polite. Room were large enough for us and very comfortable - bathroom large with an excellent shower/wet area. We only watched TV to keep up to date with the news so it suited our purposes. Location excellent for visiting the Imperial Gardens and Ginza shopping. Also with easy walking distance of the underground so it is easy to get around Tokyo. We did find it difficult understanding the system at first, but people are aways willing to help travellers in trouble. The restaurants/bars in the hotel vary in price from the reasonable (for Tokyo) to the highly expensive and formal. As we had limited time in Tokyo we tried to make the most of it and ate out whilst "sightseeing" in the evenings rather than restricting ourselves to the local area/hotel, but there are a number of places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. The foyer bar is a nice place to have morning coffee/afternoon tea in, but we preferred the Old Imperial Bar as a place to relax after a long day, although it was very busy on the Friday evening we arrived. Overall an pleasant four nights in Tokyo and we could not fault the hotel at all.
“Super”
They just perform.
“would have liked to face the other direction”
Nice to be near the Palace. Wonderful service.
“This hotel is still the grandest in Tokyo.”
You simply can't find a better combination: Updated facility and Japanese hospitality. Extremely clean, courteous staff, and excellent location.
